【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=  계명대 의과대학(학장 김희철)과 간호대학(학장 김혜영)은 의대・간호대 학생 연합 봉사단 ‘K-도넛(K-DoNuT)’을 발족했다고 17일 밝혔다.

대학에 따르면 K-도넛은 계명대학교의 선교적 지향을 통한 사랑과 섬김의 실천, 의료인으로서 사회적 약자에 대한 돌봄과 치료, 만남을 통한 건강한 인격체로서의 전인 회복을 목적으로 조직됐다.

봉사단 명칭인 K-DoNuT의 ‘K’는 계명대학교를 ‘Do(ctor)’는 예비 의사, ‘Nu(rse)’는 예비 간호사를 의미하며 간호대학생 175명, 의과대학생 99명, 총 274명이 봉사단에 참여했다.

조치흠 계명대 동산의료원장은 “환자들의 전인치유를 위해서 의사와 간호사는 그 어느 직종보다 긴밀한 협력 관계인만큼, 학생 봉사단 활동은 향후 의료현장에서 능동적으로 협업하고 섬김의 손길을 배우는 좋은 밑거름이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

김희철 의과대학장은 “어려움을 겪는 주변 이웃들에 대한 선한 행동으로 그들을 치유하고 화목한 공동체를 이뤄나가고 더 나아가 자기 자신을 향한, 삶의 의미를 찾을 수 있길 바란다”고 전했다.

김혜영 간호대학장은 “봉사란 자신의 순수한 마음을 실천하는 것이며, 그 선한 영향력으로 많은 사람들에게 사랑을 전할 수 있길 기대한다. 연합 봉사단이라 규모도 매우 크고 훌륭한 만큼, 지역 봉사를 넘어 글로벌 봉사단으로 성장하길 응원하겠다”고 말했다.
