첫 공연은 4월 4일(금) 오후 7시, 동성로 28아트스퀘어에서 시작된다.

‘동성로 청년 버스킹’은 동성로 르네상스 프로젝트의 문화관광 분야 일환으로 2024년부터 본격적으로 시작되어, 매 회 410여 명, 총 24,750여 명의 시민들이 관람하며 동성로를 활성화시키는 중요한 거리공연으로 자리 잡았다.

이번 버스킹은 (사)인디053(대표 이창원) 주관으로 진행되며, 4월부터 10월까지(혹서기인 7~8월 제외) 매주 목·금·토 오후 7시부터 전국에서 선발된 청년 예술가들이 하루 3팀씩 수준 높은 공연을 펼칠 예정이다. 이 공연은 동성로 일대에서 청년들이 중심이 되어 이루어지는 대표적인 거리예술 활동으로, 관람객들에게 다양한 문화 경험을 제공한다.

‘2025 동성로 청년 버스킹’의 개막 행사에서는 ▲ 대구대학교 비호응원단 치어리더 공연 ▲ 전통 타악과 기타리스트의 콜라보레이션으로 구성된 ‘처랏’(국악) ▲ 스트릿 댄스 팀 ‘아트지’(댄스, 록 밴드) ▲ 대중음악 그룹 ‘하즈’ 등 다채로운 팀들이 공연을 펼친다. 또한 행사 중에는 동성로 상점가 상인회의 협찬으로 응모권 추첨이 이루어져 동성로 상점 할인쿠폰 등 다양한 혜택이 제공된다.

대구시는 올해 청년예술가 42개 팀을 대상으로 경연과 동영상 심사를 거쳐 우수팀 3개 팀을 선발하고, 이들에게 시상금을 포함한 다양한 혜택을 제공할 예정이다. 1등은 200만 원, 2등 100만 원, 3등 50만 원의 시상금과 대구시장상 및 내년도 심사 면제 등의 혜택이 주어진다.

또한, 3월 28일(금) 열린 청년예술가 사전 워크숍에서는 ‘명도’, ‘아트지’, ‘요들누나 동혜’, ‘판소리제작소 소리담기’ 팀 등 다양한 분야에서 활발히 활동하는 청년 예술인들이 대거 참여해 네트워킹 시간을 가졌다.

이재성 대구광역시 문화체육관광국장은 “동성로 청년버스킹 예술가 모집에 참여해 주신 전국 청년예술가들을 응원하며, 동성로가 다시 젊음과 낭만이 넘치는 대구의 대표 공간으로 거듭날 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
