【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=대구사이버대학교(총장 이근용)가 지난 29일 대구대학교 평생교육관 2층 소극장에서 개교 23주년 및 학교법인 영광학원 창립 79주년을 기념하는 뜻깊은 행사를 성대히 개최했다.

이날 기념식에는 이근용 총장을 비롯해 교직원, 재학생, 동문 등 100여 명이 참석해 대학의 성장을 축하하고, 그간의 노력과 헌신에 감사하는 시간을 가졌다. 특히 박상욱 총학생회장과 김종윤 총동창회장이 함께 자리해 학교 구성원의 결속력을 다시금 확인하는 자리가 됐다.

행사는 ▲개회선언 및 국민의례 ▲내빈소개 ▲기념사 및 축사 ▲표창 수여 순으로 진행됐다. 참석자들은 대학의 발자취를 되돌아보며 자긍심을 나누고, 앞으로의 비전을 공유하는 시간을 가졌다.

이날 장기근속 및 공로 수상자에 대한 시상도 함께 이뤄졌다. ▲20년 장기근속에는 김한양(사회복지학과), 김춘희(전기전자공학과) 교수와 도진우 사무처장 등 10명이, ▲10년 장기근속에는 총무팀 신다진, 입시홍보팀 박수민 등 2명이 수상했다. 이외에도 ▲법인 공로상 전종국 교수(상담심리학과), ▲모범상 채현탁(사회복지학과)·김영걸(특수교육학과) 교수 등 교직원 다수가 수상의 영예를 안았다.

조정연 교수회 의장은 축사를 통해 “오늘의 대학은 어려운 여건 속에서도 묵묵히 헌신한 교직원과 학교에 애정을 가져준 동문들 덕분”이라며 “대학이 모두의 자긍심이 되도록 더욱 노력하겠다”고 전했다.

이근용 총장은 “이번 기념식이 대학의 지난 성과를 되새기고, 향후 100년을 준비하는 새로운 도약의 출발점이 되길 바란다”며 “지속 가능한 발전을 위해 창의성과 실천력, 구성원 간의 협력이 더욱 중요하다”고 강조했다. 이어 “지금의 대구사이버대학교는 여러분의 헌신과 열정이 있었기에 가능했다”며 깊은 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
