【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=대구사이버대학교(총장 이근용) 미술치료학과(학과장 임지향)는 지난 5월 5일 제103회 어린이날을 맞아 경산시민운동장에서 열린 ‘제21회 경산어린이날 큰잔치’에 참여, 미술심리상담과 페이스페인팅 등 다채로운 체험 부스를 운영하며 시민들과 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.

이번 행사는 지역 아동과 가족이 함께 어울리는 대규모 축제로, 미술치료학과는 학과의 전문성을 살려 색채·상징을 활용한 예술치유 체험 프로그램을 선보였다. 특히 페이스페인팅 부스는 어린이들의 긴 대기 줄이 이어질 정도로 인기를 끌었고, 많은 가족들에게 미술치료에 대한 관심과 긍정적 인식을 확산시키는 계기가 됐다.

임지향 학과장은 “미래의 주역인 아이들에게 즐겁고 의미 있는 시간을 선물할 수 있어 기쁘다”며, “미술치료는 감정 표현의 강력한 수단으로, 오늘 행사는 학과의 철학과 사회적 역할을 시민들과 나눌 수 있는 소중한 자리였다”고 말했다.

이날 활동에는 학과 재학생뿐 아니라 졸업생과 예비 미술심리상담사들이 자발적으로 참여해 실무 역량을 키우는 현장 실습의 장이 되었으며, 예술치료의 다양한 사회적 활용 가능성을 시민들에게 알리는 계기도 마련했다.

한편, 대구사이버대학교 미술치료학과는 국내 사이버대 최초의 미술치료 특화 학과로, 상담 실무와 인성을 겸비한 전문 인재를 양성하고 있다. 특히 2024년에는 박사과정 개설 승인을 받아 세계 최초로 학사부터 박사까지 전 과정을 온라인으로 이수할 수 있는 교육 체계를 구축했다.

오는 5월 29일부터 대학원 미술상담학과의 2025학년도 2학기 대학원생 모집, 이어 6월 1일부터는 학부 신입생 및 편입생 모집이 시작된다.

This event was a large-scale festival where local children and families could come together, and the Art Therapy Department presented an art therapy experience program utilizing colors and symbols, utilizing the department’s expertise. In particular, the face painting booth was so popular that there was a long line of children waiting, and it became an opportunity to spread interest and positive awareness of art therapy to many families.

Lim Ji-hyang, the department head, said, “I am happy that I can give children, the leaders of the future, a fun and meaningful time,” and added, “Art therapy is a powerful means of expressing emotions, and today’s event was a valuable opportunity to share the department’s philosophy and social role with citizens.”

Meanwhile, Daegu Cyber ​​University’s Art Therapy Department is the first art therapy-specialized department in Korea’s cyber universities, and is fostering professional talents with both counseling practice and character. In particular, it received approval to open a doctoral program in 2024, establishing the world’s first educational system where the entire process from bachelor’s to doctoral can be completed online.

The Department of Art Counseling in the Graduate School will begin recruiting graduate students for the second semester of the 2025 school year on May 29, followed by recruiting undergraduate freshmen and transfer students on June 1.
