대구사이버대학교는 23일 본관 C.I.R 회의실에서 새마을문고중앙회와 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 양 기관 간 실질적 협력 강화를 통해 지역사회와 국가의 평생학습 기반 조성에 기여하고자 마련됐다.

이날 협약식에는 대구사이버대학교 이근용 총장을 비롯해 전종국 특임부총장, 윤은경 대학원장, 김한양 기획처장, 박상희 교무처장이 참석했으며, 새마을문고중앙회에서는 김종철 회장과 강정옥 충북지부 회장, 김동노 광주지부 회장, 진춘식 대전지부 회장, 김민정 서울지부 회장, 이승로 대구광역시지부 회장, 김성환 경상북도지부 회장, 정선주 대구북구지부 회장 등 다수의 임원이 함께했다.

양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 ▲연수 프로그램 개발 ▲공동연구 및 학술세미나 공동 개최 ▲새마을문고중앙회 임직원 및 가족 입학 시 산학협약장학금 지급 ▲장애인 사이버 평생학습 플랫폼 홍보 ▲양 기관의 홍보활동 적극 지원 등 다양한 분야에서 협력하기로 뜻을 모았다.

이근용 총장은 “새마을문고중앙회와의 협력은 지역사회와 국가의 평생학습 환경을 더욱 활성화하는 데 큰 의미가 있다”며, “대구사이버대학교의 전문성과 기술력을 기반으로 함께 시너지를 낼 수 있기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

김종철 회장도 “오늘 협약을 시작으로 양 기관이 다양한 분야에서 실질적인 성과를 이뤄내기를 바라며, 전국 지부와 협력체계를 더욱 공고히 하겠다”고 강조했다.

대구사이버대학교와 새마을문고중앙회는 앞으로도 지역사회와 국민을 위한 교육적 가치 창출과 평생학습 확산을 위한 다양한 공동사업을 적극 추진할 계획이다.
