‘기후테크(Climate Tech)’는 기후(Climate)와 기술(Technology)의 합성어로, 온실가스 감축과 기후 적응에 기여하면서도 수익 창출이 가능한 혁신 기술을 통칭한다. 경북테크노파크는 ▲청정에너지 대응기술 ▲탄소포집 및 제거기술 ▲폐자원 리사이클링 ▲기후변화 적응 기술 ▲기후 데이터 및 AI 분석 기술 등 5대 분야를 집중 육성할 계획이다.

이번 사업은 기후테크 분야 중소기업의 경쟁력 강화와 산업 저변 확대를 목표로, 시제품 제작, 시험·분석·인증·평가, 마케팅 콘텐츠 제작, 국내 전시회 참가 등 다양한 분야에 걸친 실질적 지원이 이뤄진다. 특히 B2B 및 B2G 중심의 산업 특성을 고려해 초기 스타트업의 기술 확보 및 시장 진입을 중점적으로 지원할 방침이다.

하인성 경북테크노파크 원장은 “기후테크 산업은 탄소중립 실현뿐 아니라 미래 먹거리로도 주목받고 있다”며, “이번 지원사업을 통해 경북의 기후테크 기업들이 원천기술 확보는 물론, 지속 가능한 기업으로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 돕겠다”고 말했다.
