【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=(재)경북테크노파크(원장 하인성)는 10월 23일(목) 서울 롯데월드타워 SKY31컨벤션에서 ‘2025년 대체식품 산업 글로벌 포럼(BAFE, Building Alternative Food Industry Ecosystem Global Forum)’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 포럼에는 양금희 경상북도 경제부지사, 김주수 의성군수, 그리고 전국 지자체 및 푸드테크 산업 관계자 등 200여 명의 전문가가 참석해 성황을 이뤘다.

‘지속 가능한 미래식품 산업, 글로벌 혁신과 경북의 도약’을 주제로 열린 이번 포럼은 대체식품 산업의 최신 기술 동향과 글로벌 트렌드를 공유하고, 산·학·연이 함께 미래식품산업의 발전 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

1부에서는 싱가포르경영대학교 마크 총(Mark Chong) 교수가 ‘소비자에게 다가가는 대체식품 시장 공략’을 주제로 기조강연을 진행하며, 소비자 인식 개선 및 시장 확대 전략에 대한 심도 깊은 통찰을 제시했다. 이어 ㈜씨위드(의성), ㈜딜라이트푸드(포항) 등 ‘Future Food Challenge’ 우수기업 6곳에 대한 시상식이 진행됐다.

2부에서는 ▲글로벌 신소재 식품의 규제 동향(박유헌 동국대 교수) ▲국내 대체식품 기술개발 전략(이광진 한국식품산업진흥원 PM) ▲3D 프린팅 식품기술의 미래(최두영 ㈜엘에스비 이사) 등의 주제발표가 이어졌다. 이어 권오상 서울대 교수의 사회로 식품의약품안전처, 농림식품기술기획평가원 관계자 등 전문가들이 참여한 패널토의가 열려, 기술규제 완화·투자 확대·전문인력 양성 등 산업 생태계 활성화 방안을 논의했다.

마지막 순서로 진행된 투자설명회(IR)에서는 푸드테크 기업 5개사가 참여해 혁신 기술과 사업모델을 소개했으며, 벤처캐피털(VC)과 특허 전문가들로부터 높은 관심을 받았다. 이 자리에서 우수 기업에 대한 후속 투자 연계 가능성도 높게 평가됐다.

하인성 경북테크노파크 원장은 “3회째를 맞은 대체식품 산업 글로벌 포럼은 경상북도가 미래 식품산업의 선도 지역으로 도약하겠다는 의지를 보여주는 연례행사”라며 “국내를 넘어 글로벌 시장을 선도하는 산업 생태계를 조성해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 경북테크노파크는 경상북도와 의성군과 함께 지난해 중소벤처기업부로부터 ‘제9차 경북 세포배양식품 규제자유특구’ 지정을 받았으며, 올해는 농림축산식품부 푸드테크 연구지원센터(세포배양식품 분야) 사업에도 선정됐다. 이를 기반으로 대체식품 산업의 전주기 상용화 플랫폼 구축과 글로벌 시장 진출을 본격화하고 있다.

 Gyeongbuk Technopark Successfully Hosts '2025 Alternative Food Industry Global Forum'

Gyeongbuk Technopark (Director Ha In-seong) announced that it held the '2025 Building Alternative Food Industry Ecosystem Global Forum (BAFE)' at the SKY31 Convention Center in Lotte World Tower, Seoul, on Thursday, October 23rd.

The forum was attended by approximately 200 experts, including Gyeongsangbuk-do Vice Governor for Economic Affairs Yang Geum-hee, Uiseong County Mayor Kim Ju-soo, and representatives from local governments and the food tech industry across the country.

The forum, held under the theme "Sustainable Future Food Industry, Global Innovation, and Gyeongbuk's Leap Forward," aimed to share the latest technological and global trends in the alternative food industry and explore future directions for the industry, academia, and research.

In Part 1, Professor Mark Chong of Singapore Management University delivered a keynote speech on "Strategizing the Alternative Food Market: Reaching Consumers," offering in-depth insights into strategies for improving consumer awareness and expanding the market. Following this, an awards ceremony was held for six outstanding companies from the "Future Food Challenge," including Seaweed Co., Ltd. (Uiseong) and Delight Food Co., Ltd. (Pohang).

Part 2 featured presentations on topics such as: ▲Global Regulatory Trends in New Food Ingredients (Professor Park Yu-heon of Dongguk University); ▲Domestic Alternative Food Technology Development Strategies (PM Lee Kwang-jin of the Korea Food Industry Promotion Agency); and ▲The Future of 3D Printing Food Technology (Director Choi Du-young of LSB). Following this, a panel discussion moderated by Professor Kwon Oh-sang of Seoul National University brought together experts from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology Planning and Evaluation. The discussion focused on measures to revitalize the industrial ecosystem, including deregulation of technology, increased investment, and the development of specialized talent.

The final investor relations (IR) session featured five food tech companies presenting their innovative technologies and business models, drawing keen interest from venture capitalists (VCs) and patent experts. The potential for follow-up investment opportunities for these promising companies was also highly evaluated.

Ha In-seong, Director of Gyeongbuk Technopark, stated, "The Alternative Food Industry Global Forum, now in its third year, is an annual event that demonstrates Gyeongsangbuk-do's commitment to becoming a leading region in the future food industry. We will foster an industrial ecosystem that will lead not only domestically but also globally."

Meanwhile, Gyeongbuk Technopark, along with Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Uiseong County, was designated as the "9th Gyeongbuk Cell-Cultured Food Regulatory-Free Special Zone" by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups last year. This year, it was also selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' Food Tech Research Support Center (Cell-Cultured Food) program. Building on this foundation, the park is actively building a full-cycle commercialization platform for the alternative food industry and expanding into the global market.
