【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구보건대학교(총장 남성희)가 4일 본관 소회의실에서 대전보건대학교, 광주보건대학교, 한국한의약진흥원과 함께 ‘글로벌 보건인재 양성’을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.

이번 협약은 대구·광주·대전 3개 보건대가 연합해 구성한 ‘한달빛글로컬보건연합대학’과 한국한의약진흥원이 협력체계를 구축하는 것으로, 한·양방 융합 교육모델 정립과 글로벌 협력 기반 강화를 목표로 한다.

협약식에는 남성희 대구보건대 총장을 비롯해 이정화 대전보건대 총장, 오군석 광주보건대 교학부총장, 이화동 한국한의약진흥원 원장 직무대행 등 관계자 20여 명이 참석했다.

네 기관은 ▲‘글로컬대학30’ 성공 추진을 위한 상호 협력 ▲지역산업 진흥을 위한 산학협력 ▲보건의료 융합교육(IPE) 프로그램 공동 개발 ▲인적·물적 자원 교류 등에 뜻을 모았다.

특히 이번 협약은 WHO 협력센터(WHO CC) 지정을 추진 중인 한달빛글로컬보건연합대학에 실질적인 도움이 될 전망이다. 국내 최초로 WHO 전통·보완·통합의학 분야 협력센터로 지정된 한국한의약진흥원의 자문이 기대를 모으고 있다.

남성희 대구보건대 총장은 “진흥원의 전문성과 연합대학의 교육 역량을 결합해 한·양방 융합 교육의 새로운 글로벌 표준을 만들 것”이라며, “보건의료 기술 분야에서 통합형 교육과 실습을 강화하고, 학생들이 현장에서 실질적 역량을 쌓을 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 대구보건대학교는 지난해 8월 광주·대전보건대학교와 함께 교육부의 ‘글로컬대학30’에 선정됐으며, 현재 초광역 연합대학 체계 구축과 보건의료 전문인력 양성을 위한 표준 모델 개발에 박차를 가하고 있다.

Daegu Health College and the National Institute of Korean Medicine (NIKOM) Join Forces to Cultivate Global Healthcare Talent

Daegu Health College (President Nam Sung-hee) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Daejeon Health College, Gwangju Health College, and the National Institute of Korean Medicine (NIKOM) in a small conference room in the main building on the 4th to foster global healthcare talent.

This agreement establishes a collaborative system between the "Handalbit Global Health Union University," a joint venture of three health colleges in Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon, and the National Institute of Korean Medicine (NIKOM). The goal is to establish a model for integrated Korean and Western medicine education and strengthen the foundation for global cooperation.

The signing ceremony was attended by approximately 20 officials, including President Nam Sung-hee of Daegu Health College, President Lee Jung-hwa of Daejeon Health College, Vice President Oh Gun-seok of Gwangju Health College, and Acting President Lee Hwa-dong of the National Institute of Korean Medicine (NIKOM).

The four institutions agreed to ▲mutual cooperation for the successful implementation of the "Glocal University 30" initiative ▲industry-academia collaboration to promote local industries ▲joint development of integrated healthcare education (IPE) programs ▲and human and material resource exchange.

This agreement is expected to be particularly beneficial to Daldalbit Glocal Health University, which is seeking to be designated as a WHO Collaborating Center (WHO CC). The advisory role of the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM), the first WHO KIOM in Korea to be designated as a KIOM in the field of traditional, complementary, and integrated medicine, is highly anticipated.

Daegu Health College President Nam Seong-hee stated, "By combining the KIOM's expertise with the educational capabilities of the KIOM, we will establish a new global standard for integrated Korean and Western medicine education. We will strengthen integrated education and practical training in healthcare technology and actively support students to build practical capabilities in the field."

Meanwhile, Daegu Health College, along with Gwangju and Daejeon Health Colleges, was selected as one of the Ministry of Education's "Global Universities 30" in August of last year, and is currently accelerating the development of a standard model for establishing a metropolitan joint university system and training healthcare professionals.
