【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구보건대학교는 안경광학과가 허봉현 대한안경사협회장을 초청해 특강을 개최했다고 26일 전했다.

이날 허봉현 대한안경사협회장은 대구보건대 본관 3층 대회의실에서 재학생과 교직원 87명이 참석한 가운데 ‘안경사의 현재와 미래’를 주제로 특강을 진행했다.

이번 특강은 전문대학 혁신지원사업 ‘맞춤형 취업역량강화 프로그램’의 일환으로, 안경사의 직업적 자긍심을 고취하고 산업의 현재와 미래를 조망해 학생들의 견문을 넓히기 위해 마련됐다

허봉현 협회장은 대구보건대학교 안경광학과 동문이자 대한안경사협회 22대 협회장으로, 안경사의 전문성과 위상 강화를 위해 힘쓰고 있다.

특강에서 그는 안경사의 직무 범위와 의료기사로서의 독립적인 역할을 강조하고, 디지털 기술과 융합된 안경업의 발전 가능성을 소개했다. 또한 디지털 시대 가속화에 따른 스마트 안경 개발과 기능성 렌즈 시장 확대 등 안경업의 미래 가능성도 설명하며 “안경사는 단순한 직업을 넘어 국민 안보건을 책임지는 전문 의료인으로, 평생에 걸쳐 안정적인 직업 전망을 가진 직종”이라고 말했다.

이유나 학생은 “특강을 듣고 안경사의 역할과 안경업의 변화 가능성을 알게 돼 진로에 대한 자신감이 생겼다며 “디지털 기술을 현장에 접목하는 안경사가 되어 국민 시력 건강에 기여하고 싶다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

장우영 안경광학과장은 “학생들이 안경사의 직업적 가치와 사회적 역할을 깊이 이해할 수 있는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 다양한 프로그램을 통해 학생들의 취업 역량을 강화하고, 안경사로서의 전문성을 높이는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

In the special lecture, he emphasized the scope of opticians’ duties and independent roles as medical technicians, and introduced the potential for the development of the optical industry combined with digital technology. He also explained the future possibilities of the eyewear industry, such as the development of smart glasses and the expansion of the functional lens market due to the acceleration of the digital age, and said, “Opticians are not just simple jobs, but professional medical professionals responsible for the national eye health, and they are a profession with stable job prospects throughout their lives.”

Student Lee Yu-na said, “After attending the special lecture, I learned about the role of opticians and the potential changes in the eyewear industry, and I gained confidence in my career path. I want to become an optician who applies digital technology to the field and contribute to the national eye health.”
