청도군은 행정안전부가 전국 기초지방자치단체를 대상으로 실시한 ‘2025년 재해예방사업 추진실태’ 점검에서 재해예방사업의 체계적 관리와 현장 중심의 안전관리 성과를 인정받아 장려 지자체로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

이번 평가는 전국 15개 시·도의 기초지자체를 대상으로 풍수해생활권 종합정비사업, 자연재해위험개선지구 정비사업, 위험저수지 및 급경사지 정비사업 등 전국 918개 재해예방사업을 대상으로 진행됐다. 평가 항목은 사업관리, 예산 집행, 공정 관리, 안전 관리 등으로, 이를 종합적으로 점검해 우수 지자체를 선정했다.

평가는 2025년 상·하반기 두 차례에 걸쳐 실시됐으며, 지자체 자체 점검과 외부 평가위원이 참여한 중앙합동점검을 병행해 객관성과 공정성을 높였다.

청도군은 재해예방사업 전반에 대한 체계적인 사업 관리와 현장 중심의 안전관리, 재난 취약지역에 대한 지속적인 점검 및 정비 노력 등이 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 알려졌다. 특히 기후변화로 인한 집중호우 등 자연재난 위험이 증가하는 상황에서 군민의 생명과 재산 보호를 위한 선제적 대응 기반을 강화해 온 점이 긍정적으로 평가됐다.

군은 2025년 재해예방사업으로 재해위험개선지구 6개소(동곡1·금천·운문·대곡·가금예리·신원)와 풍수해 생활권 정비사업 3개소(소진·각북·풍각) 등 총 9개 사업장에 국·도비를 포함해 282억 원의 예산을 투입했다. 이와 함께 재난 발생 우려 지역에 대한 사전 점검과 예방 중심의 대응 체계 구축에 힘써왔다.

청도군은 앞으로도 재해예방사업의 내실 있는 추진과 현장 안전관리 강화를 통해 보다 촘촘한 재난 대응체계를 구축해 나간다는 계획이다.

김하수 청도군수는 “이번 장려 지자체 선정은 군민의 생명과 재산을 지키기 위해 재해예방사업을 꾸준하고 체계적으로 추진해 온 노력의 결실”이라며 “앞으로도 기후변화로 인한 자연재난에 선제적으로 대응하고 재난 취약요소를 면밀히 점검·정비해 군민 모두가 안심할 수 있는 안전한 청도를 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 이번 점검에서 경북 지역에서는 상주시와 청송군이 최우수, 구미시와 예천군이 우수, 영양군과 청도군이 장려 지자체로 각각 선정됐다.

Cheongdo County has been selected as a Commendable Local Government in the inspection of disaster prevention project implementation status conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Cheongdo County announced that it was selected as a Commendable Local Government in recognition of its systematic management of disaster prevention projects and field-oriented safety management achievements during the ‘2025 Disaster Prevention Project Implementation Status’ inspection conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targeting basic local governments nationwide.

This evaluation was conducted on 918 disaster prevention projects across the country, targeting basic local governments in 15 cities and provinces. These projects included the Comprehensive Flood and Storm Damage Improvement Project for Living Areas, the Improvement Project for Natural Disaster Risk Improvement Zones, and the Improvement Project for Hazardous Reservoirs and Steep Slopes. Evaluation criteria included project management, budget execution, schedule management, and safety management, and outstanding local governments were selected based on a comprehensive inspection of these factors.

The evaluation was conducted twice, in the first and second halves of 2025. Objectivity and fairness were enhanced by combining self-inspections by local governments with joint central inspections involving external evaluators.

Cheongdo County reportedly received high marks for its systematic management of overall disaster prevention projects, field-oriented safety management, and continuous efforts to inspect and maintain disaster-prone areas. In particular, the county was positively evaluated for strengthening its foundation for preemptive responses to protect the lives and property of its residents amidst the increasing risk of natural disasters, such as torrential rains caused by climate change.

For 2025 disaster prevention projects, the county invested a total of 28.2 billion won, including national and provincial funds, into nine project sites. These included six disaster risk improvement zones (Donggok 1, Geumcheon, Unmun, Daegok, Gageumyeri, and Sinwon) and three flood and landslide prevention residential area improvement projects (Sojin, Gakbuk, and Punggak). Along with this, the county has strived to establish a prevention-oriented response system and conduct pre-inspections of areas at risk of disaster. Cheongdo County plans to continue building a more comprehensive disaster response system by ensuring the substantial implementation of disaster prevention projects and strengthening on-site safety management.

Cheongdo County Governor Kim Ha-su stated, “The selection as an Encouragement Local Government is the fruit of our consistent and systematic efforts to promote disaster prevention projects to protect the lives and property of our citizens.” He added, “We will continue to do our utmost to create a safe Cheongdo where all citizens can feel secure by proactively responding to natural disasters caused by climate change and meticulously inspecting and maintaining disaster vulnerabilities.”

Meanwhile, in this inspection, Sangju City and Cheongsong County were selected as Top Excellence, Gumi City and Yecheon County as Excellence, and Yeongyang County and Cheongdo County as Encouragement Local Governments in the Gyeongbuk region.
