청도군 농업기술센터는 지난 17일 관내 주요 농작물 재배지와 농경지 일대를 대상으로 돌발해충 월동난(越冬卵) 조사를 실시하고, ‘농작물 병해충 예찰·방제단’ 운영에 본격 착수했다고 밝혔다.

최근 겨울철 강우 증가와 봄철 기온 상승 등 이상기후로 병해충 발생 양상이 복잡해지면서 발생 시기와 규모를 예측하기 어려워지고 있는 상황이다. 이에 군은 병해충 조기 발견과 신속한 대응을 위해 예찰·방제단을 구성하고 오는 12월까지 상시 운영할 계획이다.

이번 월동난 조사는 갈색날개매미충과 꽃매미 등 주요 돌발해충의 월동 상태와 발생 밀도를 사전에 파악하기 위해 추진됐다. 조사 결과는 향후 부화 시기와 확산 가능성을 예측하고 적기 방제 전략을 수립하는 데 활용된다.

청도군은 3월부터 12월까지 과수 농가와 주요 재배지를 중심으로 정기 예찰을 실시하고 병해충 발생 동향을 지속적으로 모니터링할 방침이다. 또한 병해충 발생 시 신속한 방제를 위해 방제비를 지원하고, 농업인을 대상으로 방제 기술 교육과 관련 정보 제공도 병행한다.

아울러 우심 지역을 중심으로 현장 지도와 점검을 강화하고, 마을 방송과 홍보를 통해 농업인의 자발적인 예찰 참여와 예방수칙 준수를 유도할 계획이다.

김하수 청도군수는 “기후변화로 병해충 발생 양상이 다양해지고 있어 사전 예찰과 신속한 대응이 중요하다”며 “체계적인 예찰·방제단 운영을 통해 농작물 피해를 최소화하고 안정적인 농업 환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
