【브레이크뉴스 청도】이성현 기자=청도군은 오는 3월 3일 정월대보름을 맞아 청도천 둔치에서 ‘2026 정월대보름민속한마당’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 높이 20m에 달하는 대형 달집을 점화하는 전국 최대 규모의 달집태우기 행사로, 군민의 안녕과 풍년농사를 기원하는 청도의 대표 전통 민속축제다. 매년 수천 명이 찾으며 지역 전통문화의 상징적 행사로 자리 잡고 있다.

행사 당일 낮 12시부터는 소원문 쓰기, 민속놀이 체험, 세시음식 나누기, 농특산물 판매 등 다양한 부대행사가 운영된다. 오후에는 각 읍·면을 대표하는 풍물단이 참여하는 풍물경연대회가 열려 흥을 더할 예정이다.

특히 경상북도 무형문화재로 지정된 차산농악으로 널리 알려진 청도의 수준 높은 풍물 공연이 펼쳐지며, 지역 전통 예술의 진수를 선보일 것으로 기대된다.

이어 TV 프로그램 현역가왕에서 활약 중인 김수찬의 축하공연과 달맞이 의식이 진행된다. 월출 시각에 맞춰 기관·단체장과 군민이 함께 참여하는 대형 달집 점화가 펼쳐지며 장관을 연출할 전망이다.

김하수 청도군수는 “병오년 새해를 맞아 정월대보름 행사를 찾아주시는 모든 분들께 새해 복이 가득하길 바란다”며 “풍년농사와 군민의 안녕을 기원하고, 전통문화 계승 속에서 세대를 아우르는 화합의 장을 만들겠다”고 말했다.

This event, the largest of its kind in the country, features the lighting of a 20-meter-tall moon house. It is Cheongdo's representative traditional folk festival, praying for the well-being of the county residents and a bountiful harvest. Thousands of people visit every year, making it a symbolic event of local traditional culture.

From noon on the day of the event, various side events will be held, including writing wishes, experiencing folk games, sharing seasonal foods, and selling local agricultural products. In the afternoon, a Pungmul (Korean percussion) competition featuring representative Pungmul (Korean percussion music) groups from each town and district will add to the excitement.

Cheongdo's renowned traditional music performance, particularly Chasan Nongak, designated as an Intangible Cultural Asset of Gyeongsangbuk-do, is expected to showcase the essence of the region's traditional arts.

Following this, a congratulatory performance by Kim Soo-chan, currently appearing on the TV show "King of Singers," will be followed by a moonrise ceremony. A large moon house lighting ceremony, coordinated with the moonrise time, will be held, featuring the participation of heads of organizations and residents, creating a spectacular spectacle.
