【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구경북경제자유구역청(DGFEZ)이 싱가포르 경제계와의 협력 강화를 통해 외국인 투자 유치 확대에 나섰다.

DGFEZ는 7일 주한싱가포르상공회의소 저스틴 용 회장 등 임원진을 초청해 대구경북경제자유구역을 대상으로 현장체험형 투자유치 설명회(IR)를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 IR은 싱가포르 기업의 투자 유입을 확대하기 위해 마련된 것으로, 주요 지구 시찰과 유관기관 방문을 병행하는 체험형 프로그램으로 진행됐다. 양측은 투자정보 교환과 인적 교류, 행사 개최 지원 등 다양한 분야에서 협력을 강화하기로 했다.

특히 DGFEZ는 오는 10월 개최 예정인 ‘FIX 2026’과 연계해 외국 경제단체를 초청하는 투자유치 설명회를 추진할 계획이며, 주한싱가포르상공회의소도 이에 적극 협력하기로 뜻을 모았다.

싱가포르는 2025년 기준 한국에 누적 359억 달러를 투자한 주요 투자국으로, 상업용 부동산과 금융서비스, 바이오·제약, 반도체, 데이터센터, 물류 등 다양한 분야에서 활발한 투자를 이어오고 있다. 현재 DGFEZ 내에도 5개 싱가포르 투자기업이 입주해 사업을 전개 중이다.

이날 일정의 마지막으로 DGFEZ는 주한싱가포르상공회의소와 함께 경산 소재 한국한의약진흥원을 방문해 양국 기업 간 비즈니스 매칭 협력 방안을 논의했다.

강상기 DGFEZ 청장 직무대행은 “주한 외국상공회의소는 외국기업과 DGFEZ를 연결하는 중요한 가교 역할을 하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 주요국 상공회의소와의 협력을 강화해 외국인 투자 유치 확대에 적극 나서겠다”고 말했다.

The Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) has set out to expand foreign investment attraction by strengthening cooperation with the Singaporean business community.

DGFEZ announced on the 7th that it held an on-site investment attraction briefing (IR) for the Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone, inviting executives including Justin Yong, Chairman of the Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Korea.

This IR was organized to expand the inflow of investment from Singaporean companies and was conducted as an experiential program combining site visits to key districts and relevant organizations. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields, including the exchange of investment information, personnel exchanges, and support for hosting events.

In particular, DGFEZ plans to promote investment attraction briefings by inviting foreign economic organizations in conjunction with ‘FIX 2026,’ scheduled to be held this coming October, and the Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Korea has agreed to actively cooperate in this effort.

Singapore is a major investor with a cumulative investment of $35.9 billion in Korea as of 2025, continuing active investments across various sectors including commercial real estate, financial services, bio-pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, data centers, and logistics. Currently, five Singaporean investment companies are operating within the DGFEZ.

As the final event of the day's schedule, the DGFEZ, together with the Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Korea, visited the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine in Gyeongsan to discuss cooperation measures for business matching between companies from both countries.

Kang Sang-ki, Acting Commissioner of the DGFEZ, stated, "Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Korea play a crucial role as a bridge connecting foreign companies with the DGFEZ," adding, "We will continue to strengthen cooperation with Chambers of Commerce in major countries to actively work towards expanding the attraction of foreign investment."
