영국은 스타트업 투자금액이 유럽 내 1위 국가이며 주한영국상공회의소는 투자기업을 포함한 4,000여개의 기업 정보를 보유 중으로, 대구 투자 유망기업 대상 투자 활성화 및 주한영국상공회의소와 연계한 비대면 투자유치 활동(Investor Relations) 강화를 위한 업무협력 체결에 가장 적합한 주한 외국상공회의소이다.

이번 협약을 통해 대구경북경제자유구역청과 주한영국상공회의소는▲ 대구의 투자유망기업 대상 외국인 투자유치를 위한 영국 내 잠재적 투자자 발굴 및 투자유치 활동 지원, ▲ 현지 기업 또는 기관 대상 투자설명회 개최 및 투자사절단 파견사업 추진, ▲ 온·오프라인 투자유치 마케팅 추진 등을 상호 협력해 추진하게 된다.

이번 업무협약으로 코로나19로 위축되었던 외국인 투자유치 활동환경이 개선되어 대구경북경제자유구역청의 투자유치 사업이 더욱효율적으로 추진 가능할 것으로 보인다. 또한, 지역 내 유망기업을대상으로 한 적극적인 투자유치 업무협력을 통해 외국인투자유치를 통한 해외판로개척 및 성장으로 지역경제파급 효과에 긍정적인영향을 줄 것으로 기대된다.
