【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=경주엑스포대공원은 지난 31일 민족 대명절인 추석을 앞두고 경주지역 어르신들을 위해 ‘추석맞이 경주 어르신 초청 문화나눔 특별공연’을 진행했다고 1일 밝혔다.

이날 비가 내린 궂은 날씨에도 경주지역 어르신 300여명이 문화센터 공연장(문무홀)을 찾아 창작 뮤지컬 ‘태양의 꽃’ 특별공연을 즐겼다.

이날 특별공연에 앞서 문화센터 로비에서는 피아니스트 이지영씨의 피아노 연주가 펼쳐졌으며, (사)천년미래포럼에서는 공연을 보러 오신 어르신들에게 다과를 제공했다.

또한 문무홀에서는 뮤지컬 공연에 앞서 신라천년예술단 이성애 단장의 ‘천년의 소리’ 대금 연주에 맞춰, 리어예술단 이다현, 이현영 씨가 ‘천년지애’ 무용 공연을 펼쳐 어르신들에게 즐거운 시간을 선사했다.

이어진 뮤지컬 태양의 꽃 공연을 본 어르신들은 연기자들의 노래와 극에 매료돼 100분 공연이 10분처럼 느껴질 만큼 재미있었다며 만족감을 표현했다.

대한노인회 경주시지회(회장 구승회)·(사)천년미래포럼(이사장 김은호) (재)문화엑스포 공동주최로 마련된 이번 공연은 최근 뮤지컬 ‘태양의 꽃’ 경주시민 초청 공연이 호응을 얻은데 힘입어, 추석을 앞두고 코로나19 등으로 인해 상대적으로 문화공연 관람에서 소외된 어르신들에게도 뮤지컬 관람의 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다. 뮤지컬 초청공연은 9월 1~2일 저녁 7시에도 열린다.

류희림 경주엑스포대공원 대표는 “추석을 앞두고 마련한 어르신들을 위해 마련한 행사를 기쁘게 즐기셨다고 하시니 오히려 어르신들에게 감사 드린다”며 “어르신들을 위한 문화봉사를 할 수 있는 기회를 더 많이 가질 수 있도록 노력하겠다 ”고 말했다.

한편 이날 경주엑스포공원의 상징물인 경주타워 디자인 원안 액자 제막식이 오후 6시 경주타워 전망 1층에서 열렸다.

이날 제막식에는 류희림 경주엑스포대공원 대표, 故 유동룡 선생의 장녀인 유이화 ITM건축연구소 대표, 이효재 디자이너, 박대성 화백, 구승회 대한노인회 경주시지회장, 김은호 (사)천년미래포럼 대표 등이 참석했다.

이날 제막한 액자(1200×780mm)는 경주타워 저작권자인 재일교포 건축가 유동룡(이타미 준)선생이 2004년 공모전에 출품한 타워 디자인 원본을 담고 있다. 액자 옆에는 경주타워와 유동룡 선생에 대한 안내문도 설치됐다

경주엑스포대공원은 지난 2020년 ‘경주타워와 건축가 유동룡’ 현판 제막식을 가졌으며, 내년(2023년)에는 건축가 故 유동룡 기획전을 계획하고 있다.
