【브레이크뉴스 경북 】이성현 기자=환경유해인자로부터 도민의 건강을 보호하기 위한 조례안이 발의됐다. 경상북도의회 정경민 의원(비례)은 제 335회 정례회에서 ‘경상북도 환경보건 조례안’을 발의했다.
조례안에는 환경보건계획 수립과 시행 규정을 마련하는 한편, 주요 환경보건에 관한 사항의 심의와 조정, 자문을 담당할 도지사 소속의 ‘경상북도 환경보건위원회‘를 구성 및 운영하도록 한다는 내용을 담았다. 이와 함께 환경오염에 취약한 지역에 거주하는 주민 및 인구집단에 대한 건강영향조사 및 역학조사를 실시할 수 있도록 하고, 조사를 수행할 건강영향조사반의 설치 및 운영 근거도 제시했다.
이에 따라 도민은 도지사에게 건강영향조사 또는 역학조사를 실시하여 줄 것을 청원할 수 있고, 조사 결과에 따른 조치에 관한 내용과 환경보건 증진 활동 지원 등에 관한 사항을 요청할 수 있게 됐다.
조례안은 경상북도의회 문화환경위원회 심사를 통과해 오는 18일 제335회 경상북도의회 제1차 정례회 제2차 본회의에서 최종 의결될 예정이다.
정경민 의원은 “환경오염으로 도민과 생태계에 대한 위협이 증가함에 따라 환경유해인자의 위해성에 대한 지속적인 조사·관리가 필요하다.”고 지적하면서“이번 조례 제정으로 경북도가 환경오염에 적극적으로 대응하고 생태계 보존과 도민 건강권 증진에 이바지하기를 희망한다.”며“앞으로도 도민의 건강과 생태계의 건전성 향상을 위한 의정활동을 펼쳐나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.
