포항시에 따르면 이강덕 포항시장, 김두겸 울산시장, 주낙영 경주시장은 25일 경주 황룡원에서 민선8기 첫 정기회를 가지고 공동번영과 미래발전을 위한 해오름동맹 상생협의회 공동협약 체결했다.
이날 협약은 동남권 해오름 초광역 전철망 구축, 국가 첨단 가속기 인프라 동맹 결성, 환동해 해오름 해안관광단지 조성, 해오름 형제의 강 상생 프로젝트, 해오름 미래산업단지 혁신 플랫폼 조성을 위한 초광역 협력사업의 적극적인 발굴을 위해 상호협력하기로 했다.
이를 위해 세 도시는 공동으로 내년에 해오름동맹도시 발전전략 수립 연구용역을 실시할 예정이다.
