구조 직후 안동병원으로 이송된 광부들은 탈진, 저체온증, 영양불균형 및 수면장애와 가벼운 경련 증상 등으로 집중치료를 받았다.
상태가 호전됨에 따라 퇴원 후 가정에서 안정을 취하면서 통원치료(근육통, 심리증상 등)를 하고, 경북도는 강원도 정신건강복지센터와 연계하여 심리치료를 지원할 예정이다.
