19일 대구시에 따르면 행안부의 ‘주한미군 공여구역주변지역 발전종합계획’에 3차 순환도로(캠프워커 서편) 건설사업이 최종 반영됐다고 밝혔다.

‘주한미군 공여구역주변지역 등 지원 특별법’에 따라 매년 1회 지자체 요구 등 수요를 반영하는 발전종합계획의 변경 확정 내용에 신규사업으로는 전국에서 유일하게 캠프워커 서편 도로개설사업이 포함되는 성과를 거뒀다.

이에 따라 전체 사업비 170억 원의 절반에 해당하는 84억 원이 국비로 지원돼 내년부터 본격적인 사업 추진이 가능해졌다.

연장 600m의 캠프워커 서편도로는 현재 진행 중인 동편 비상활주로 구간 700m와 함께 3차 순환도로(총연장 25.2㎞)의 마지막 단절구간으로 그동안 대구의 도시발전을 저해하는 난제로 남아 있었다.
