【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자= 대구행복진흥원 여성가족본부(원장 정순천)는 대구여성생애구술사 제 9권 ‘대구 차(車) 여성’을 발간했다고 2일 밝혔다.

행복진흥원은 지난 2014년 ‘섬유’를 시작으로 대구 여성들의 이야기를 담은 ‘대구여성생애구술사’를 매년 발간하고 있다.

올해 발간한 대구여성생애구술사에는 교통수단 차(車)를 주제로 7명의 여성이 등장한다. 

시내버스 기사 김정숙(67세), 개인택시 기사 은금순(69세), 전 항공 승무원 백정숙(60세), 오일장 트럭 운전사 강영우(62세), 대구 도시철도 3호선 운행관리원 이경미(47세)와 검수원 구한솔(35세), 대형 직장버스 기사 이혜란(32세) 등 7명이 주인공이다. 

은금순(69세) 구술자는 젊은 시절 서울과 인천에서 일하다가 결혼 후 대구로 왔다. 칠성시장에서 채소를 도매로 떼서 트럭에 싣고 다니며 판매하던 중 오빠의 권유로 택시 운전을 시작, 35년째 택시 운전을 하고 있다. 

김정숙(67세) 구술자는 조선견직, 전업사, 햄 대리점 운영, 택시 운전 기사를 하다가 1996년 버스 회사에 입사해 시내버스 기사로 일하고 있다. 만원버스 운행 시절부터 버스 준공영제 시행 이후 현재까지 대구 교통의 흐름을 증언하고 있다. 

1985년 캐세이퍼시픽 항공사에 승무원으로 입사, 10년간 승무원으로 일했던 백정숙(60세) 구술자는 해외여행 자유화 전후 해외 여행객들의 변화와 하늘 위에서 승객들의 안전을 책임지는 승무원 업무에 대해 상세하게 들려준다.

 강영우(62세) 구술자는 1톤 트럭을 운전해 현풍, 삼천포, 밀양, 의령 등 4개의 오일장을 오가며 생활한복을 판매하고 있다. 장터마다 다니며 경험한 다양한 이야기를 들려주고 있다. 

대구 도시철도 3호선 운행관리원 이경미(47세) 구술자는 3호선의 운행을 책임지며 승객을 맞이한다. 검수원 구한솔(35세) 구술자는 기술적인 부분에서 도시철도의 안전을 책임지고 있다. 대구 도시철도 3호선은 공구가 분실되면 시민의 안전에 직접적인 위험이 있기 때문에 특별히 관리에 신경을 쓴다. 

직장 대형버스 기사 이혜란(32세) 구술자는 공군 부사관 수송특기로 근무했던 만큼 운전이 적성이 맞다. 트레일러, 레커, 굴삭기, 지게차, 로더 등 다양한 특수차량 운전면허를 소유하고 있다. 특히 굴삭기 운전이 제일 재미있다고 말한다.  

행복진흥원 정순천 원장은 “이 책은 이동 수단이 흔하지 않던 시절부터 현재까지 이동 수단과 관련한 여성의 직업 변천을 따라가며 일곱 명 여성들의 생애를 육성으로 듣고 아카이빙했다”며 “이제 하늘길에도, 도시철도 3호선 위에도, 도로에서도 여성의 노동이 필요한 시대가 되었다. 이 책은 과거, 그리고 현재를 통해 면면이 이어지고 있는 차(車)에 얽힌 여성의 목소리를 생생하게 담아내고 있다.”고 밝혔다.

City bus driver Kim Jeong-suk (67 years old), private taxi driver Eun Geum-soon (69 years old), former flight attendant Baek Jeong-suk (60 years old), 5-day truck driver Kang Young-woo (62 years old), Daegu Metro Line 3 operator Lee Gyeong-mi (47 years old) and The seven main characters are Koo Han-sol (35 years old), a checker, and Lee Hye-ran (32 years old), a large work bus driver.

Eun Geum-soon, 69, narrator said that in her youth she worked in Seoul and Incheon, then came to Daegu after her marriage. While selling her vegetables wholesale at Chilseong Market and loading them on her truck, she started driving her taxi at the recommendation of her brother, and has been driving her taxi for 35 years.

Kim Jeong-suk (67 years old) narrator said that she worked as a Joseon silk worker, a full-time company, a ham dealership, and a taxi driver before joining a bus company in 1996 and working as a city bus driver. She testifies to the flow of traffic in Daegu from the days of full-capacity buses to the present day after the enforcement of the bus completion system.

Baek Jung-suk (60), an narrator who joined Cathay Pacific as a flight attendant in 1985 and worked as a flight attendant for 10 years, tells in detail about the changes in overseas travelers before and after the liberalization of overseas travel and the flight attendants responsible for the safety of passengers in the sky.

  Kang Yeong-woo (age 62), an narrator, drives a 1-ton truck to and from four five-day markets: Hyeonpung, Samcheonpo, Miryang, and Uiryeong, selling traditional Korean clothing. She goes to each market and tells various stories of her experiences.

Daegu Metro Line 3 Operation Manager Lee Gyeong-mi (47), Gu Sul-ja is responsible for the operation of Line 3 and greets passengers. Checker Hansol Koo (35 years old), the narrator, is responsible for the safety of the urban railway in terms of technology. Daegu Metro Line 3 pays special attention to management as there is a direct risk to the safety of citizens if tools are lost.

Lee Hye-ran (32 years old), a large bus driver at work, is an aptitude for driving, as the narrator worked as an air force noncommissioned officer specializing in transportation. She owns a license to drive various special vehicles, including trailers, wreckers, excavators, forklifts, and loaders. She says that driving an excavator is the most fun, she says.

Happiness Promotion Agency director Jung Soon-cheon said, “This book follows the career changes of women related to transportation from the days when transportation was not common to the present, listening to and archiving the lives of seven women.” It has become an era where women's labor is needed both on line 3 and on the roads. This book vividly captures the voices of women who are entangled in the car, which continues through the past and the present.”
