또 “언론 기사 링크를 직접 클릭하면 조회수가 높아져 기관에 대한 부정적 인식이 확산될 우려가 있어, 기사 검색 대신 스크랩 파일만 참고하도록 했다”며 “이 과정에서 한국언론진흥재단의 ‘부정기사 내부 공유방안’ 안내문을 참고해 문구를 작성했다”고 덧붙였다.

앞서 대구경제정의실천시민연합(대구경실련)은 대구행진원이 직원들에게 ‘기관 관련 부정 기사 검색 금지’ 지시를 내렸다며 “공공기관으로서의 책무를 망각한 언론 통제 시도”라고 비판했다.

대구경실련은 “시민의 비판과 감시를 차단하려는 것은 민주사회의 기본 원칙을 거스르는 일”이라고 지적하며 해당 지시의 즉각적인 철회를 요구했다.

이에 대해 대구행진원 측은 “언론 통제나 비판을 피하려는 의도는 없었으며, 앞으로도 언론과의 협력적 관계를 지키고, 투명한 홍보활동을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

CCEJ stated, "Attempting to block citizen criticism and oversight goes against the fundamental principles of a democratic society," and demanded the immediate retraction of the order.

In response, the CCEJ stated, "We had no intention of controlling the media or avoiding criticism, and we will continue to maintain a cooperative relationship with the media and engage in transparent public relations activities."
