【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구경제정의실천시민연합‧대구참여연대가 20일 공동성명을 통해 “대구 중구의회는 배태숙 의장 관련 사태에 대해 공개사과하고 중구청은 수의계약 관련자들을 징계해야한다”고 말했다.
앞서 중구의회는 감사원의 배태숙 의장 수의계약 비리 적발에 대한 징계 요구건에 출석정지 30일의 징계를 결정했다.
그러나 최근 김오성 의원 등 5명의 중구의회 의원이 “감사원과 경찰이 적발한 것 외에도 배 의장이 중구청 및 산하 출연기관과의 모두 51건 2,930만 규모의 수의계약을 한 것을 추가로 확인했다”고 밝히며 지난 19일 제302회 제2차 정례회 4차 본회의에서 배태숙 의장에 대한 제명을 의결했다.
이에 대해 대구경실련과 참여연대는 “배태숙 의원의 유령업체와 수의계약을 한 중구청 공무원들은 비리의 공범”이라며 “중구청은 아직까지도 이에 대한 조치를 하지 않고 있다”고 비판했다.
또한 “중구의회가 전국 최악의 지방의회라는 오명은 배태숙 의원에 대한 제명 의결만으로 극복할 수 있는 문제는 아니다”며 “중구의회는 배태숙 의원의 수의계약 비리와 관련한 잘못에 대해 공개 사과하라”고 요구했다.
이들은 “각종 비리 관련자, 중구의회 파행의 책임자들을 의장직에서 배제하고 수의계약 비리 등 의원의 이해충돌 방지를 위해 「지방자치법」, 「공직자의 이해충돌방지법」, 「대구광역시 중구의회 의원 윤리강령 및 행동강령에 관한 조례」로 정한 것 이상의 규정을 제정해 시행하라”고 말했다.
아울러 “중구청은 배태숙 의원의 수의계약 비리와 관련된 공무원들을 엄중 문책해야 한다”고 강조했다.

He also emphasized, “Jung-gu District Office must strictly hold public officials accountable for corruption in the veterinary contract with Assemblywoman Bae Tae-sook.”
