【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=한국수력원자력(사장 황주호, 이하 한수원) 황주호 사장이 18일(현지시간) 스위스 다보스 폴란드관에서 개최된 고위급 패널 토론회에 참석해 ‘유럽의 에너지 자립 방안’에 대해 논의했다고 밝혔다. 토론회는 세계경제포럼(다보스포럼)을 계기로 폴란드 정부 주도로 개최됐다.

황 사장의 토론회 참석은 야체크 사신(Jacek Sasin) 폴란드 부총리 겸 국유재산부 장관의 초청으로 이뤄진 것으로 알려졌다. 한수원에 따르면, 안제이 두다(Andrzej Duda) 폴란드 대통령의 기조연설을 시작으로 열린 토론회에는 야체크 사신 부총리 겸 국유재산부 장관, 안덕근 산업통상자원부 통상교섭본부장, 보이치에흐 동브로브스키(Wojciech Dabrowski) 폴란드국영전력공사(PGE) 사장, 그리고 마치에이 스테츠(Maciej Stec) ZE PAK 이사가 패널로 참석했다. 

토론회에서는 유럽의 에너지 자립을 위한 폴란드의 원자력분야 투자 필요성, 폴란드의 에너지 전환 방안, 양국의 원전분야 협력 방안 등에 대한 논의와 함께 한국의 원전 개발사 및 노형에 대한 설명도 있었던 것으로 확인됐다.

한수원은 황주호 사장이 이번 토론회에서 “폴란드 민간발전사와의 협력을 통해 폴란드내 신규원전을 적기에 건설함으로써 폴란드의 저탄소 에너지 공급에 기여할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”는 포부를 전했다고 밝혔다.

한편, 다보스 토론회에서의 한국 원전의 유럽 수출 가능성이 얼리면서 국낸 언전산업의 중요한 전기가 마련되고 있다는 희망 섞인 전망이 나오고 있다.

KHNP CEO Hwang Joo-ho expressed his aspirations at this forum, saying, "We will do our best to contribute to the supply of low-carbon energy in Poland by constructing a new nuclear power plant in Poland in a timely manner through cooperation with a Polish private power company."

Meanwhile, as the possibility of exporting Korean nuclear power plants to Europe is frozen at the Davos Forum, hopeful prospects are emerging that an important turning point for the domestic unelectric industry is being prepared.
