이번 설명회는 원전 산업에 종사하는 국내 대기업 및 중소기업 관계자들을 대상으로 진행되었으며, 70여 개 업체와 150명이 참가했다.

한수원과 원산협회가 공동 주최하고 한국원전수출산업협회가 후원한 이 설명회는 체르나보다 1호기 설비개선 사업에 대한 국내 업체들의 참여를 촉진하고, 해외 판로를 열기 위한 목적으로 마련됐다. 

한수원은 시공 역무를 맡고, 캔두 에너지(이하 캔두)와 안살도 뉴클리어(이하 안살도)는 설계·구매를 담당하고 있다. 이번 사업에서 한수원은 국내 원전 기자재 공급망의 역량과 신뢰성을 지속적으로 홍보하며, 두 기업과 협력하여 국내 업체들이 해외 시장에 진출할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 있다.

캔두와 안살도는 행사에서 구매 희망 품목과 유자격 공급자 등록 절차를 설명하고, 한수원 협력 기업들의 적극적인 참여를 요청했다. 한수원은 이번 설비개선 사업 추진 현황, 구매 예정 기자재 품목, 입찰절차 등을 소개하며, 원산협회와 한국원전수출산업협회는 품질시스템 구축 및 해외 진출 지원 사업 등 중소기업 지원 프로그램을 안내했다.

매튜 로스 캔두 부사장은 "글로벌 원자력 산업 프로젝트의 수요 확대에 대응하기 위해 캔두는 한국을 포함한 다양한 지역에서 기술 공급망을 확대하고 있다"며, "한수원은 월성 1호기의 압력관 교체를 성공적으로 수행한 신뢰할 수 있는 파트너로, 이번 프로젝트를 통해 한국 기업들과의 협력을 더욱 확대해 나갈 것"이라고 전했다.

박인식 한수원 수출사업본부장은 "한수원은 국내 및 해외 원전 건설 사업을 통해 국내 기자재 공급업체들을 지속적으로 지원해 왔다"며, "이번 기회를 통해 상대적으로 덜 알려진 운영·정비 분야의 해외 수출을 통한 일감 창출을 더욱 활성화할 것"이라고 강조했다.

한수원은 지난해 12월, 루마니아 체르나보다 1호기 원전의 30년 계속운전을 위한 설비개선 사업 계약을 체결했으며, 이는 한수원이 해외 원전의 설비개선 사업을 수주한 첫 사례다. 체르나보다 원전은 한수원이 설계하거나 운영한 원전이 아니지만, 발주처는 한수원의 종합 사업관리 능력과 운영 및 정비 능력을 높이 평가해 이번 프로젝트에 한수원의 참여를 요청했다.

이번 설비개선 사업에는 한수원의 협력업체로 한전 KPS, 두산에너빌리티, 현대건설, 삼성물산 등이 참여하며, 사업 규모는 약 2.8조 원에 달한다.

 Hanwha Solutions Holds 'Export Briefing Session for Cernavoda Unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant Equipment in Romania'

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (President Hwang Joo-ho, hereinafter referred to as Hanwha Solutions) and the Korea Atomic Energy Industry Association (Chairman Hwang Joo-ho, hereinafter referred to as Wonsan Association) held the 'Export Briefing Session for Cernavoda Unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant Equipment in Romania' at COEX in Seoul on the 26th.

This briefing session was held for domestic large and small businesses engaged in the nuclear power industry, and approximately 70 companies and 150 people participated.

This briefing session, co-hosted by Hanwha Solutions and Wonsan Association and sponsored by the Korea Nuclear Power Export Industry Association, was prepared for the purpose of promoting domestic companies' participation in the Cernavoda Unit 1 facility improvement project and opening overseas sales channels.

Hanwha Solutions is in charge of construction, while Candu Energy (hereinafter referred to as Candu) and Ansaldo Nuclear (hereinafter referred to as Ansaldo) are in charge of design and purchasing. In this project, KHNP is continuously promoting the capacity and reliability of the domestic nuclear power plant equipment supply chain and is providing opportunities for domestic companies to enter overseas markets in cooperation with the two companies.

At the event, CANDU and Ansaldo explained the items they wish to purchase and the registration process for qualified suppliers, and requested active participation from KHNP partner companies. KHNP introduced the status of this facility improvement project, items of equipment to be purchased, and bidding procedures, while the Korea Nuclear Power Industry Association and the Korea Nuclear Power Export Industry Association introduced small and medium-sized enterprise support programs such as quality system establishment and overseas expansion support projects.

Matthew Ross, Vice President of CANDU, said, “In order to respond to the growing demand for global nuclear power industry projects, CANDU is expanding its technology supply chain in various regions including Korea,” and “KHNP is a reliable partner that successfully completed the pressure tube replacement of Wolseong Unit 1, and we will further expand cooperation with Korean companies through this project.”

Park In-sik, head of the Export Business Division at Hanwha Solutions, emphasized, “Hanwha Solutions has continuously supported domestic equipment suppliers through domestic and overseas nuclear power plant construction projects,” and “Through this opportunity, we will further activate overseas exports in the relatively lesser-known operation and maintenance sectors.”

In December of last year, Hanwha Solutions signed a contract for facility improvement projects for the 30-year continued operation of the Cernavoda Unit 1 nuclear power plant in Romania, which is the first case in which Hanwha Solutions has won a project to improve facilities at an overseas nuclear power plant. Although the Cernavoda nuclear power plant was not designed or operated by Hanwha Solutions, the ordering party highly evaluated Hanwha Solutions’ comprehensive project management capabilities and operation and maintenance capabilities and requested Hanwha Solutions’ participation in this project.

Hanwha Solutions’ partners in this facility improvement project include KEPCO KPS, Doosan Energy, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and Samsung C&T, and the project scale amounts to approximately KRW 2.8 trillion.
