이에 대해 대구교총은 “이 사건은 평소 학교폭력에 일곱 차례나 연관된 관심군 학생의 학폭 사실에 학부모가 불만을 가지면서 비롯된 것”이라면서 “비상식적인 악성 민원(여러 교원을 대상으로 한 악의적 고소‧고발, 수십 년에 걸친 학교 정보공개 청구, 허위사실 주장 등)의 무차별적 공세로 학교 업무를 마비시켰고 그로 인해 남겨진 교원들의 상처와 피해 받은 아이들의 교육권은 그 누구에게도 보상받지 못했다.”고 강조했다.

그러면서 “교권이 실종돼 버린 지금, 교사가 더 이상 스승일 수 없는 시대 상황은 우리에겐 아픔이자 통한.”이라는 입장을 밝혔다.

대구교총은 “우리 사회는 범법자에 대한 방치와 느슨한 잣대로 심각한 사회적 비용을 초래해 오고 있다.”면서 “올바른 교육을 위해 가장 우선시 되어야 할 것이 교권 회복”이라고 거듭 강조했다.
