【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경북도는 2030년 신공항 개항에 맞춰 대구경북공항 연계교통구축대책 TF팀을 구성하고 글로벌 물류공항으로 성장하기 위한 공항 연계교통망구축대책을 추진한다.

22일 경북도에 따르면 대구경북공항 연계교통구축대책 TF팀은 이남억 경북도 대구경북공항추진본부장을 팀장으로, 교통 분야 전문가와 시군 도로 및 철도팀장 등으로 구성해 물류허브 공항으로 교통망 확충을 위한 밑그림을 만들어 갈 계획이다.

TF팀은 앞으로 국토부에서 추진중인 ‘민간공항 건설사업 타당성조사 및 기본계획 수립용역’에 맞춰 연계교통구축대책 수립 및 건의를 통해 민항 접근교통시설로의 다양한 연계교통망 반영을 추진할 예정이다.

그간 기존 교통망으로는 향후 대규모 단지로 조성될 신도시 및 물류·산업단지의 특성을 고려할 때, 물류 및 여객 수송의 한계가 있다는 지적이 제기되어 왔다.

이에 경상북도는 지난해 9월부터 경북의 미래 신성장동력 산업으로 주목받을 주요 산업단지와 관광지 등 경제산업권과 신공항을 하나로 잇는 교통망 구축을 위한 신공항 연계 주요 경제산업권 접근성 향상 연구용역을 추진하고 있다.

신도시 및 물류·산업단지 계획과 연계한 교통망 개선과 주변지역 개발에 따른 기반시설 확충 필요성 등을 감안하여 중장기적으로 지역 특화산업의 시너지 효과와 공항 경제권 활성화를 위한 교통 네트워크를 구상한다는 방침이다.
