 【브레이크뉴스대구 】이성현 기자=제 22대 국회의원 선거가 80여일 앞으로 다가왔지만 여당인 국민의힘과 제1야당인 더불어민주당의 움직임이 국민 눈높이와 상당한 거리차가 벌어지면서 축제여야 할 선거에 대한 우려가 일고 있다.  

특히나 보수 성향이 짙은 대구.경북에서는 출마 예비후보자들 주변에서 유권자들로부터 의문을 살수 밖에 없는 황당한 일들이 펼쳐지면서 눈살을 찌푸리게 하고 있다. 가장 많은 사례로 지목되는 일이 책임 있는 지도자급 위치에 있는 사람들이 모양새 빠지는 행동을 일삼고 있는 점이다 

경산시 국회의원에 출마한 조지연 예비후보. 그는 대통령실 행정관 출신으로 얼마 전 용산을 나오자마자 대통령 직속 기구인 지방시대위원회 우동기 위원장이 자신의 후원회장을 맡기로 했다는 보도자료를 각 언론사에 배포했다. 지방시대위원회는 알려진 대로 대통령 직속 기구다. 대통령이 가장 신임한다고 할 수 있는.....이른바 자신의 사람을 심어놓는 자리로 알려진 만큼 대통령과의 교감도 자주 이뤄지는 자리라고 할 수 있다.  

그런 자리인 만큼 위원장의 행동에도 주의가 요구된다고 할 수 있다. 그런 측면에서 우동기 위원장의 이번 결정은 평상시 그답지 않을뿐더러, 섣부르다 못해 위험천만하다는 지적이 일고 있는 것. 조지연 후보 입장에서는 선거 전략상 성공할 수 있다고 할 수 있겠으나, 우동기 위원장에 대한 국민 신뢰는 추락했다고밖에 해석이 어려운 이유다.  

박근혜 전 대통령의 북 콘서트도 시기적으로 매우 불편하게 만드는 사항 중 하나다. 박 전 대통령은 그동안 자의인지 타의인지도 모르겠으나, 모 언론을 통해 자신의 회고록을 유료로 오픈해 왔다. 특정 매체를 통해 유료로 공개하는 부분에 대하여 일각에서는 매우 불편하게 보고 있다.  

이런 상황에서 총선 80여 일이 남은 최근, 그는 자신의 북 콘서트를 준비한다고 언론에 알리고 초청했다. 굳이 언론에 알리면서까지 할 일인지도 모르겠지만, 왜 하필 이 시기에 하는지에 대하여는 더더욱 큰 궁금증이 일 수밖에 없는 상황.

선출직 기초 또는 광역의원들의 경우, 총선에 출마하는 후보를 골라 지지하고 지원할 수있다. 또, 자신이 직접 선거 캠프에서 활동할 수도 있다. 선거법상 위법은 분명 아니다. 그러나 모양새는 많이 빠진다.  

경북도의회 소속 모 의원의 경우, 자신의 지역구가 포함된 지역에 출마하는 전직 국회의원을 돕는다고 공개적으로 선언하고 나섰다. 이 도의원은 여기에 그치지 않고 자신이 그 지역 총괄선대위원장까지 맡아 활동할 계획도 밝히면서 해당 출마자에 대하여 지지를 호소하고 있다.  

이 지역에 거주하는 유권자 A씨는 본지에 "해당 도의원의 이같은 행보가 선거법에 저촉되는 것은 아닌지 확인해 달라"고 요청해왔다. 사실을 확인하는 과정에서는 제법 많은 이들이 이런 행동에 의아함을 표하면서도 선거법 위반인지, 아닌지에 대하여 진정으로 궁금해하기도 했다. 그만큼 이런 상황이 불편하다는 의미로 해석된다.
