【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자= 대구 수성 갑에 출마한 정상환 예비후보는 최근 현 지역구 국회의원인 주호영 의원을 겨냥, 주 의원이 지난 총선에서 당초 자신의 지역구였던 수성 을에서 수성 갑으로 출마한 것은 험지로 출마한 것이 아니라는 증거를 제시하며 오는 4월 총선에서 주 의원을 동일 지역구 3선 이상 감점 대상에 포함시키지 않는 것은 공정하지도 않을 뿐 아니라, 신인 후보자들과의 형평성에도 위배 된다는 취지로 주 의원의 감점 미적용에 대한 이의 신청서를 공관위에 제출했다.

정 예비후보에 따르면 지난 총선에서 자유한국당 후보로 나섰던 모든 후보들은 민주당 김부겸 의원에 상당한 차이를 두고 압도적으로 이기는 것으로 각종 여론조사가 증명했다.

당시 수성을 지역구 국회의원이었던 주호영 의원은 ”김부겸 의원에 승리할 수 있는 사람은 자신”임을 강조하며 지역구를 수성 갑으로 옮겨 출마했다. 

앞서 주 의원은 수성을 지역에서 당의 공천을 받지 못해 무소속으로 출마해 당선된 전력이 있었다. 따라서 지역 정치권 일각에서는 주 의원의 지역구 변경 출마는 수성을 공천이 쉽지 않다는 자체 판단에 따라 ‘험지’라는 명분을 내세웠다는 풀이가 있었다. 실제 험지는 대구와 경북이 아니라 다른 지역이었어야 한다는 분석이다.

정 예비후보는 "동일 지역구 3선 이상 감점 규정의 경우 다선 중진 현역의원과 경쟁하는 정치신인들을 위한 형평성 차원에서 마련한 규정일 것"이라며 "지난 21대 총선에서 수성구 을에서 수성구갑으로 옮긴 주호영 의원에 대해서 감점 규정이 적용되지 않는 것은 규정의 취지를 무시한 것일 뿐만 아니라 공정하지도, 공평하지도 않다"고 말했다.

그러면서 정 예비후보는 “21대 총선 당시 수성구갑에서 군소후보를 포함한 자유한국당의 모든 후보가 압도적인 차이로 더불어민주당의 현역 김부겸 의원을 이기는 것으로 나타났다. 당시 수성구갑은 험지가 아니라 양지 중의 양지였다”고 덧붙이고, “아울러 대구는 하나의 지역구로 보는 것이 맞고, 대구 내에서 지역구를 옮겼다고 감점 규정을 배제하는 것은 전혀 공정하지 않다”고 말했다.
