30일 오전 캠프를 깜짝 방문한 문희갑 전 대구시장은 “대구도 우리나라도 발전하려면 사람을 잘 뽑아야 되는데 정상환 예비후보는 잘 해낼 사람”이라며 격려를 전했다.

이날 선거 사무소에는 김형렬 전 수성구청장, 오철환 전 시의원, 황기호 전 구의원, 지역주민들이 방문해 있었는데 이를 보고 문 전 시장은 “수성구 사람들이 많이 찾아오는 선거사무소가 좋은 캠프”라며 “요즘은 후보가 열정적이고 깔끔하고 스마트해야 인기가 많다”고 강조했다.

이에 정상환 예비후보는 “이렇게 갑자기 찾아와주셔서 감사하다”며 “열심히 노력해 좋은 결과를 얻겠다”고 화답했다.

정상환 예비후보는 대구 영선초, 사대부중, 능인고를 나와 서울대 법대를 졸업한 후 미국 컬럼비아 대학 로스쿨에서 비교법학 석사 학위를 취득했으며, 대구지검 특수부장, 주미한국대사관 법무협력관(외교관), 국가인권위 상임위원(차관급) 등을 거쳐 현재 국민의힘 법률자문위원회 부위원장으로 활동했다.

Prospective candidate Jeong Sang-hwan graduated from Daegu Yeongseon Elementary School, Teachers' Middle School, and Neungin High School, and graduated from Seoul National University Law School. He then earned a master's degree in comparative law from Columbia University Law School in the U.S., and served as head of the special department of the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office, legal cooperation officer (diplomat) at the Korean Embassy in the United States, and standing member of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea. He served at the vice minister level and is currently serving as vice chairman of the People Power Party's Legal Advisory Committee.
