이진숙 예비후보 측에 따르면, 두 사람은 지난 8일 오후 대구 달성군 화원읍 문 전 시장 자택에서 만나 지역 현안과 대구 재도약 방안에 대해 논의했다. 

이 자리에서 문 전 시장은 이 예비후보의 요청을 받아들여 후원회장을 맡기로 했으며, 선거 지원에도 적극적으로 나설 뜻을 밝혔다.

문 전 시장은 “대구는 지금 변화를 이끌 리더십이 꼭 필요하다. 요청이 있다면 무엇이든 힘껏 돕겠다”고 말했다. 

이에 대해 이 예비후보는 “이번 지방선거는 대구 변화의 중요한 전환점이 될 것이다. 대구의 위상을 되찾는 데 모든 역량을 쏟겠다”고 화답했다.

문 전 시장과 이 예비후보는 이날 만남에서 “대구정신을 되살려 과거 3대 도시로서의 위상을 회복해야 한다”는 데 뜻을 함께하고, 지역 경제·산업 활성화 방안에 대해서도 다양한 의견을 나눈 것으로 전해졌다.

Former Daegu Mayor Moon Hee-gap has accepted the position of chairman of the support group for Lee Jin-sook, a prospective candidate for Daegu mayor, and will publicly support her in the June 3 local elections.

According to Lee Jin-sook's camp, the two met at Moon's home in Hwawon-eup, Dalseong County, Daegu on the afternoon of the 8th to discuss local issues and plans for Daegu's revitalization.

During the meeting, former Mayor Moon accepted Lee's request to serve as chairman of the support group and expressed his willingness to actively support her in the election.

Former Mayor Moon stated, "Daegu is in desperate need of leadership to drive change. I will do my utmost to assist in any way requested."

Lee responded, "This local election will be a crucial turning point for Daegu's transformation. I will dedicate all my energy to restoring Daegu's status."

Former Mayor Moon and prospective candidate Lee reportedly agreed during their meeting that “we must revive the spirit of Daegu and restore its status as one of the three major cities in the past,” and also exchanged various opinions on ways to revitalize the local economy and industry.
