【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 주호영 부의장(대구수성구갑)이 대구회생법원 설치에 대한 법적 근거를 마련했다고 28일 밝혔다.

주 부의장이 대표 발의한 ‘각급 법원의 설치와 관할구역에 관한 법률 일부개정법률안’이 지난 27일 국회 본회의를 통과했다.

법안은 대구지역에서 증가하는 도산 사건에 대응하기 위해 대구회생법원을 설치하는 것을 주요 내용으로 하고 있다.

지난해 법원별 도산사건 접수 건수를 살펴보면 대구지방법원은 2만196건으로, 서울회생법원(4만3천470건)과 수원회생법원(3만592건)에 이어 세 번째로 많았다.

그러나 많은 접수 건수에도 불구하고 대구의 경우 회생법원이 없어 개인파산 신청 시점부터 파산 선고 결정일까지 소요 기간이 다른 지역보다 상대적으로 길다는 문제점이 지적되어 왔다.

수원과 부산에 회생법원이 설치된 이후 도산사건 처리 기간이 절반 이상 단축된 것으로 확인된다.

이를 통해 대구회생법원 설치가 완료되면 대구·경북 지역의 법인과 개인 채무자들은 골든타임을 놓치지 않고 신속하고 전문적인 사법 서비스를 받을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

주호영 부의장은 “개인회생제도의 핵심취지는 ‘적시에 구제한다’는 것인데 대구경북 지역은 접수 건수가 많아 이런 취지가 무색한 상황이었다”면서 “이번 개정안 통과로 지역 주민들에 대한 사법서비스가 개선되기를 바라며 진행 경과를 보면서 더 필요한 부분이 있다면 추가 개선을 위해서도 적극 노력하겠다”고 했다.

However, despite the large number of cases received, the problem has been pointed out that the period from the time of filing for personal bankruptcy to the date of the bankruptcy declaration decision is relatively longer than in other regions due to the lack of a rehabilitation court in Daegu.

It has been confirmed that the period for processing bankruptcy cases has been shortened by more than half since the establishment of rehabilitation courts in Suwon and Busan.

With this, once the Daegu Rehabilitation Court is established, it is expected that corporate and individual debtors in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions will be able to receive prompt and professional judicial services without missing the golden time. Vice Chairman Joo Ho-young said, “The core purpose of the personal rehabilitation system is to ‘provide relief in a timely manner,’ but the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions have a large number of applications, making this purpose meaningless.” He added, “I hope that the passage of this revision will improve judicial services for local residents, and I will actively work to make additional improvements if there are any areas that need further improvement as we monitor the progress.”
