권영진 (전 대구광역시장) 달서 병 국회의원 예비후보는 ‘권영진과 함께하는 우리 동네 장보기’ 일곱 번째 행사로 지난 23일 본리동 소재 달서시장을 찾았다. 이날 장보기 행사는 정월대보름을 앞두고 실시한 행사라는 점에서 설 민심 이후 달라진 전통시장의 서민물가와 민심을 살피는 데 주요했다고 캠프측은 밝혔다. 이날 장보기 행사에는 약 200여명의 지지자와 주민들이 함께 했다.

권 예비후보는 지난해 12월 신내당시장을 시작으로, 매주 지지자 100여 명과 함께 전통시장을 찾아 물품을 구입하는 등 상인들과 걱정과 희망을 공유하고 있다. 권 예비후보에 따르면 “상인들은 100여 명 이상이 한꺼번에 시장에 몰릴 때마다 ‘오늘이 무슨 특별한 날이냐?’고 묻곤 한다”면서 “그러면서 매일이 오늘만 같으면 좋겠다고 반가워하신다”고 전하면서도 “이런 반응에 밀려오는 안타까움이 가슴을 먹먹하게 만든다”고 전했다.

권 예비후보의 ‘권영진과 함께 우리동네 장보기’ 행사는 지난해 12월 신내당시장에 이어 1월 5일 월촌역시장, 1월 12일 달서시장, 1월 26일 두류종합시장과 두류신시장, 2월 2일 서대구시장, 2월 16일 송현시장에서 진행했다. 

한편, 권 예비후보는 △대구시청 두류신청사, 2028년까지 원안대로 마무리 △신청사와 이월드, 두류공원 일대 두류관광특구 지정, △서대구KTX역과 두류관광특구를 순환하는 서대구순환 모노레일 건설, 두류관광특구와 서대구순환 모노레일을 연계 △전통시장과 골목상권을 활성화, △중단되거나 답보상태에 있는 재개발․재건축 조속한 추진 △초․중․고의 교육 환경 개선과 어린이집·유치원이 저출산문제 해결의 첨병이 되도록 해결책 강구 △사회적 약자(어르신, 장애인 등)를 위한 복지 확충 공약과 함께 “경로당이 어르신 건강복지의 허브가 되도록 지원을 강화하겠다”고 약속했다.
