동구는 지역 최초로 동대구우체국과 협약을 맺어 방촌·해안동에 거주하는 복지위기가구의 안부를 확인하기 위한 사업을 시행하고 있다.
이를 통해 집배원들은 매달 정기적으로 위기가구에 생필품이 든 소포우편을 배달하면서 건강, 주거상태 등 대상자들의 안부를 확인해 결과를 지자체에 통지한다.
동구는 회신 결과를 바탕으로 위기가구에 맞춤형 서비스를 지원하는 등 우체국과 체계적인 서비스를 구축해 나갈 계획이다.
윤석준 동구청장은 “동대구우체국과 힘을 모아 촘촘한 복지안전망 강화로 지역사회 위기가구 지원에 빈틈이 없도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
