【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=DGB금융지주(회장 황병우)는 5일 콘래드 서울에서 유엔글로벌콤팩트(UNGC) 한국협회가 개최한 ‘Korea Leaders Summit(코리아 리더스 서밋) 2024’에서 지속가능경영을 선도하는 ‘LEAD(리드) 그룹’으로 선정됐다.

DGB금융지주에 따르면 UNGC는 2000년 UN본부에서 발족한 세계 최대 규모의 기업 지속가능성 추진 이니셔티브다. 인권/노동/환경/반부패 분야의 10대 원칙을 준수하며, 기업의 사회적 책임 활동 촉구 및 지속가능한 성장을 목표로 하고 있다.

LEAD 그룹은 UNGC 한국협회 380여 개 회원사 중 탁월한 ESG 성과와 책임 경영을 실천하는 상위 소수 기업에 주어지는 영예로운 자격으로, 올해는 DGB금융지주를 포함한 단 8개 기업만이 선정됐다. 이번 LEAD 그룹 선정으로 그간의 ESG 경영 실천에 대한 노력을 인정받았으며, ESG 분야에서의 선도적 입지를 더욱 공고히 하게 됐다.

DGB금융지주는 2006년부터 유엔글로벌콤팩트 한국협회 회원사로 참여하고 있으며, 올해 기업과 인권 액셀러레이터 프로그램, ESG/지속가능금융/환경 실무그룹 등 다양한 활동에 적극적으로 동참했다.

이번 코리아 리더스 서밋 행사는 ESG를 최초로 제창한 ‘Who Cares Wins’ 보고서 발간 20주년을 기념해 유엔글로벌콤팩트 한국협회가 주최한 ESG 컨퍼런스로, 기업/정부/학계/시민사회 리더 500여 명이 참여했다.

이 자리에서는 반기문 유엔글로벌콤팩트 한국협회 명예회장과 국제기구 고위급 인사들이 연사로 나서 유엔글로벌콤팩트 4대 가치와 SDGs 목표 달성을 위한 기업의 역할을 논의했다.
