【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지역 관광산업의 새로운 도약을 이끌 ‘오션리조트 및 골프장 개발사업’의 민간사업자 제안 공모를 오는 8월 21일까지 진행한다고 9일 밝혔다. 이번 공모는 7월 8일부터 울진군 홈페이지를 통해 공고됐다.

이번 개발사업은 근남면 산포리 일대 18만㎡, 매화면 오산리 일대 134만㎡ 등 총 152만㎡ 규모 부지에 ▲300실 이상의 숙박시설 ▲27홀 규모의 골프장을 조성하는 대규모 민간투자 프로젝트로, 「관광진흥법」에 따라 추진된다.

울진군은 전체 사업 대상지 중 80% 이상을 국·공유지로 확보해 사업 기반을 마련했으며, 2024년부터는 투자유치협력관 채용, 한국관광공사 주관 ‘지역 관광투자유치 컨설팅 및 홍보지원’ 공모사업 선정 등을 통해 본격적인 투자유치 활동을 벌이고 있다.

이와 함께 경상북도 투자유치협의체와의 협력, 민간투자자와의 지속적인 소통, 잔여 필지에 대한 감정평가 및 보상 협의 등을 통해 사업 추진의 실질적 기반도 다져가고 있다.

울진군은 이번 공모를 계기로 동해안 관광벨트 구축과 체류형 관광도시 전환을 본격화하며, 지역경제에 새로운 성장 동력을 불어넣을 방침이다.

손병복 울진군수는 “오션리조트 및 골프장 개발사업은 울진 관광 1,000만 시대를 대비하는 핵심 사업”이라며, “지역 경제 활성화와 지속 가능한 관광도시 도약을 위해 민간사업자들의 적극적인 참여를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
