【브레이크뉴스 울릉】전종환 기자=울릉군이 주최하고 대한궁도협회 울릉 성무정이 주관한 ‘제5회 독도사랑 전국남녀궁도대회’가 지난 18일부터 20일까지 울릉군 남양 성무정에서 성황리에 개최됐다.

이번 대회는 지난 2016년 이후 9년 만에 다시 열리는 전국 규모의 궁도 행사로, 서울, 거제, 안산, 함안 등 전국 각지에서 450여 명의 선수가 참가해 그동안 갈고닦은 활쏘기 실력을 겨뤘다.

18일 열린 개회식에는 남한권 울릉군수를 비롯해 이상식 울릉군의회의장, 남진복 경북도의원, 허후길 경북궁도협회장 등이 참석해 대회 개최를 축하했다. 울릉 무릉정 소속 한선미 선수가 선수대표로 나서 힘찬 선서를 낭독하며 대회의 시작을 알렸다.

경기는 단체전과 개인전(장년부, 노년부, 여자부)으로 나뉘어 치러졌으며, 단체전에서는 진주 람덕정이 1위를 차지했고, 울릉 무릉정이 2위, 여주 청심정이 3위에 올랐다.

개인전 장년부에서는 안산 광덕정 소속 선보현 선수가, 여자부에서는 함안 가야정 소속 신정희 선수가 각각 우승을 차지했다. 노년부 1위는 경기 중 조기 출도로 인해 시수가 집계되지 않아 수상자가 결정되지 않았고, 공동 2위는 거제 금무정의 신현득 선수와 화순 서양정의 배남천 선수가 각각 차지했다.

남한권 울릉군수는 “이번 대회가 독도 사랑의 정신을 다시금 되새기고, 우리 민족 고유의 전통 무예인 궁도가 더 많은 사랑을 받는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

The '5th Dokdo Love National Men and Women's Archery Competition' hosted by Ulleung-gun and organized by the Korea Archery Association's Ulleung Seongmujeong was held successfully from the 18th to the 20th at Namyang Seongmujeong in Ulleung-gun.

At the opening ceremony held on the 18th, Ulleung-gun Mayor Nam Han-kwon, Ulleung-gun Council Chairman Lee Sang-sik, Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Member Nam Jin-bok, and Gyeongbuk Archery Association Chairman Heo Hu-gil attended to congratulate the opening of the competition. Ulleung Mureungjeong's Han Seon-mi, as the athlete representative, read a powerful oath to announce the start of the competition.

The competition was divided into team events and individual events (middle-aged, senior, and women’s). In the team event, Jinju Ramdeokjeong took first place, Ulleung Mureungjeong took second place, and Yeoju Cheongsimjeong took third place.

In the middle-aged individual event, Seon Bo-hyeon from Ansan Gwangdeokjeong won the championship, and in the women’s event, Shin Jeong-hee from Haman Gayajeong won the championship. The winner of the senior category was not determined because the number of attempts was not counted due to an early departure during the competition, and the joint second place went to Shin Hyeon-deuk from Geoje Geummujeong and Bae Nam-cheon from Hwasun Seoyangjeong.

Nam Han-kwon, the Ulleung County Governor, said, “I hope this competition will once again remind us of the spirit of love for Dokdo and serve as an opportunity for our people’s unique traditional martial art, archery, to receive more love.”
