이날 행사에는 남한권 울릉군수, 이상식 울릉군의회의장, 남진복 경상북도의원, 울릉군의회 의원들을 비롯해 NH농협은행 울릉군지부장, 울릉농협조합장, 농업인단체협의회 회원 등 70여 명이 참여해 풍성한 행사 분위기를 더했다.

울릉군은 서면 태하삼거리와 현포리 예림원 입구 일대 총 3,300㎡ 규모의 논에 ‘영진벼’를 시험 재배하고 있으며, 이 품종은 바람과 도복(倒伏)에 강한 단간형 벼 품종으로 알려져 있다. 이번 재배는 단순한 생산을 넘어, 경북농업기술원의 협력 하에 해충 예찰포 및 지역 적응성 시험연구 목적도 함께 수행되고 있다.
