이번 축제는 저동항을 중심으로 천부항과 남양항 등 섬 전역에서 열리며, ‘에메랄드 빛 울릉도, 힐링과 낭만’을 주제로 울릉도의 전통문화와 해양자원을 접목한 다채로운 체험형 프로그램으로 구성됐다.

축제의 시작을 알리는 개막식은 8월 4일 저녁 7시 저동항 본무대에서 열리며, 풍어기원제를 비롯해 전통 떼배 퍼레이드, LED 오징어 점등 퍼포먼스, 인기 그룹 쿨(이재훈)의 축하 무대, 드론 라이트쇼, EDM 파티 등 다채로운 퍼포먼스가 관람객을 맞이한다. 매일 밤 열리는 ‘피맥파티’와 불꽃놀이는 울릉도의 여름밤을 한층 더 낭만적으로 수놓을 예정이다.

주간 프로그램으로는 울릉도의 자연을 오롯이 느낄 수 있는 해담길 걷기, 천부·남양 해수풀장에서 열리는 오징어 및 방어 맨손잡기 체험, 바다미꾸라지 잡기 대회 등 온 가족이 함께 즐길 수 있는 체험이 준비됐다. 또한 울릉도 특산물 번개경매, 향토 오징어 요리 시식회, 나물 시식회, 오징어요리 서바이벌 등이 방문객의 오감을 사로잡을 전망이다.

축제 둘째 날인 8월 5일에는 JTBC ‘히든싱어’ 모창 우승자들의 릴레이 콘서트와 가수 하이량의 무대가 펼쳐진다. 이어 관광객과 주민이 함께 즐기는 ‘나도 가수왕’ 이벤트와 EDM 파티가 밤 무대를 더욱 뜨겁게 달굴 예정이다.

축제 마지막 날인 6일 저녁에는 해군 제118조기경보전대가 주관하는 안보콘서트가 열리며, 사물놀이와 마술, 비보이 퍼포먼스에 이어 해군 홍보단 Misfit(태용)의 무대가 이어진다. 대형 불꽃놀이로 축제의 피날레를 장식하며 3일간의 화려한 축제는 막을 내린다.

울릉군축제위원회는 “울릉도의 청정 자연 속에서 전통과 현대가 어우러지는 특별한 여름축제를 준비했다”며 “지역 주민과 관광객이 함께 어울릴 수 있는 흥겨운 여름 축제의 장이 되길 기대한다”고 전했다.
