특별전형 입학생들은 2학년 진급 시 ‘글로벌그린이노베이션학과’에 자동 배정되며, 한동대 울릉캠퍼스에서 2학기 이상 ‘지역혁신집중학기’를 필수로 이수해야 한다. 이 과정에서 학생들은 울릉도의 현장 문제를 기반으로 실무형 교육과 창의적 문제해결 역량을 키우게 된다.
울릉군은 이번 캠퍼스 조성을 계기로 한동대 울릉캠퍼스를 울릉도의 전략산업과 연계한 연구 및 교육의 거점으로 육성해, 지역과 대학이 함께 성장하는 새로운 지역혁신 모델로 정착시킬 계획이다.
남한권 울릉군수는 “한동대 울릉캠퍼스와 울릉도특별전형은 K-U시티 사업의 대표적인 상생 사례”라며, “앞으로 교수와 학생, 글로벌 연구기관이 함께 울릉도에 장·단기 체류하며 지역특화 프로젝트를 수행하게 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Ulleung-gun plans to foster Handong University’s Ulleung Campus as a research and education hub linked to Ulleung-do’s strategic industries, and establish it as a new regional innovation model where the region and the university grow together, using this campus establishment as an opportunity.
The Ulleung County Governor of Namhankwon said, “Handong University’s Ulleung Campus and Ulleungdo Special Admissions are representative examples of the K-U City project’s mutual growth,” and added, “In the future, professors, students, and global research institutes will stay in Ulleungdo for short and long periods of time to carry out regional specialized projects.”
