팔공산 케이블카 사업에 대해서는 “사업을 일방적으로 추진하기보다 환경·종교 단체가 참여하는 공개 협의체를 구성해, 객관적인 환경영향평가와 저영향 설계, 생태 복원 등 대안을 마련하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 폐점한 홈플러스 부지(약 3,000평) 활용 방안과 관련해서는 “우선협상과 현장 실사를 통해 매입 및 리모델링 비용을 산정한 뒤, 지방채와 국비 공모, 민관협력 방식 등으로 재원을 마련할 계획”이라며 “단기적으로는 1년 내 공공주차장과 커뮤니티 공간을 우선 개방하고, 2~3년 내에는 체육·문화·청년창업 복합공간을 조성하겠다”고 밝혔다.
