대구대학교(총장 김상호) 스마트시스템공학과가 현장체험 프로그램을 통한 인재 양성에 나섰다.
경상북도와 함께 추진하는 조기 취업형 계약학과인 스마트시스템공학과는 지난 12일 지역산업 인력 양성을 위한 현장체험 프로그램을 진행했다.
이론중심의 대학교육과 실무중심의 기업 현장 교육을 결합해 3년(6학기)의 교육과정을 운영하는 스마트시스템공학과는 학생들이 대학 입학 전 조기에 취업을 확정하고, 기업에 재직한 상태에서 현장 맞춤형 인력으로 양성할 수 있다는 점에서 새로운 청년 취업 지원 모델로 주목 받고 있다.
이번에 진행된 기업탐방 프로그램에서는 스마트시스템공학과 학생 및 지도교수가 (주)영진을 방문해 기업 내 다양한 생산시설을 견학했으며, 기업에 대한 정보를 받고 현장 실무에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있는 자리가 됐다.
프로그램에 참여한 김민철 학생은 “이론 중심의 강의에서 배울 수 없는 실무 내용을 현장체험 프로그램을 통해 배웠다”며 “실제 기업 내부에서의 직무에 대한 궁금증을 해소했고 보다 전공지식을 확장할 수 있는 기회였다”고 말했다.
박철영 대구대 스마트시스템공학과장은 “경상북도와 대구대가 협력하는 지역산업 인력 양성사업을 통해 대학의 우수한 산학협력체제와 인적·물적 인프라를 활용함으로써 경상북도 지역산업 맞춤형 기업을 발굴할 수 있다”며 “기업이 요구하는 인재를 양성함으로써 대학과 기업은 시너지 효과를 창출할 수 있다”고 말했다.
