21일 경산캠퍼스 성산홀 16층 회의실에서 기후 및 환경 문제의 해결과 탄소저감을 목표로 폐기물 산업에서의 사용자 경험(UX) 최적화 및 수집운반 솔루션 개선 협력을 위한 업무협약식이 개최됐다.

협약은 양 기관의 ▶빅데이터 분석과 사물인터넷(IoT) 기술을 활용한 폐기물 발생 현황 분석 및 데이터베이스 구축, ▶최적의 수집운반 경로 설계, ▶스마트 폐기물 관리 시스템 개발 등에 관한 적극적 협력을 골자로 한다.

황윤익 브이유에스 대표이사는 “이번 협약을 통해 폐기물 수집운반 솔루션의 전반적인 개선과 혁신을 이뤄내겠다”면서 “브이유에스가 제공하는 폐기물 배출 데이터 분석과 수집운반 시스템의 개선 솔루션이 지역사회에 실질적인 변화를 가져올 것"이라고 말했다.

유상원 대구대 서비스디자인연구소장은 “협약은 산업적으로 빠르게 성장하고 있지만, 사회적인 인식의 개선이 필요한 폐기물 산업에 대한 사용자 경험과 인식을 혁신하는 데 이바지할 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.

Daegu University Service Design Research Institute (Professor Sang-won Yoo) and VUS Co., Ltd. (CEO Yun-ik Hwang), an IT startup, have joined hands to innovate AI-based waste collection and transportation services.

On the 21st, a business agreement ceremony was held in the 16th floor conference room of Seongsan Hall, Gyeongsan Campus, to cooperate in optimizing user experience (UX) and improving collection and transportation solutions in the waste industry with the goal of solving climate and environmental issues and reducing carbon emissions.

The agreement is based on active cooperation between the two organizations in ▶ analyzing waste generation status and building a database using big data analysis and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, ▶ designing optimal collection and transportation routes, and ▶ developing a smart waste management system.

Hwang Yoon-ik, CEO of VUS, said, “Through this agreement, we will achieve overall improvement and innovation in waste collection and transportation solutions,” and added, “The waste discharge data analysis and collection and transportation system improvement solutions provided by VUS will bring about real changes to the local community.” Yoo Sang-won, director of Daegu University’s Service Design Research Institute, said, “The agreement is expected to contribute to innovating user experience and awareness of the waste industry, which is growing rapidly as an industry but needs to improve social awareness.”
