【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈) 반려동물보건학과(학과장 이재연)가 W홀스랜드(대표 안지선)와 협약을 맺고 승마산업 지원 및 선진국형 승마문화 활성화를 위해 나선다고 21일 밝혔다.

지난 16일 동물교감활동을 주관하는 기업인‘교육협동조합 세움’(대표 박호일) 및 한국동물보건사협회(회장 김수연)이 함께 참여한 가운데 대구한의대 반려동물보건학과와 W홀스랜드의 업무협약식이 열렸다.

협약을 통해 양 기관은 승마산업 지원과 선진국형 승마문화 활성화를 위해 적극 협력하기로 약속하고 이후 W홀스랜드의 시설을 탐방하며 동물들과 교감하는 시간을 가졌다.

W홀스랜드 안지선 대표는 “이번 협약을 통해 새로운 분야로 급상하고 있는 승마 산업에 대한 대구한의대학교 반려동물보건학과의 학생들에게 특수교육 현장에 대한 이해를 높여 마산업과 관련된 상업들을 제공 효과가 기대된다”고 말했다. “또한 말을 위한 재활센터 운영으로 동물복지를 최우선으로 하는 승마산업 발전도모에 주력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

이재연 학과장은 “성장하고 있는 반려산업 속도애 비해 아직 우리나라는 동물복지를 고려한 가이드라인 등이 부족하며 승마나 경주마 역시 전 생애 관련 복지 체계필요가 필요하며 이와 관련한 복지시스템 구축에 적극적인 협력하겠다.”고 말했다. 

W홀스랜드는 경기도 가평에 위치한 4만평 규모의 서울근교 최대 규모 승마장으로 국제승마연맹 시합이 가능한 국내 최대규모 실내승마장, 야외승마장 제공되고 있다.

Department Head Lee Jae-yeon said, “Compared to the growing speed of the companion industry, Korea still lacks guidelines considering animal welfare, and horseback riding and racing horses also need a welfare system related to their entire lifespan, and we will actively cooperate in establishing a welfare system related to this.” said.

W Horse Land, located in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do, is the largest equestrian center in the suburbs of Seoul with an area of 40,000 pyeong.
