18일 국립안동대 교수 33명이 시국선언문을 통해“인내심이 한계에 이르렀다”고 밝히며 윤 대통령의 퇴진을 요구했다.

이들은 “지난 70년간 수많은 민주열사의 희생과 광장에 나선 국민의 촛불혁명을 통해 어렵게 이루어 낸 민주주의가 불과 2년 만에 순식간에 침몰하고 있다”며 “대통령 부인으로 내조만 하겠다던 김건희 여사가 권력을 이용해 국정을 농단하는 작금의 사태를 지켜보기에는 인내의 한계점에 도달했다”고 말했다.

그러면서 “대한민국 헌정질서를 회복하고 민주주의를 지키기 위해 국정농단의 주역인 김건희 여사에 대한 조건 없는 특검 실시와 전쟁 위기 조장, 굴종 외교, 민생파탄의 책임자인 윤석열 대통령의 즉각 퇴진을 강력히 촉구한다”고 덧붙였다.

같은 날 대구대학교 교수와 연구자 54명이 '윤석열 정권의 국정 파탄, 우리는 분노한다'는 제목으로 시국선언에 나섰다.

이들은 “부자 감세, 긴축 예산은 교육격차 악화, 교육의 질 퇴행을 초래하고 있다. 사립학교법 시행령 개정으로 비리 전력 이사 추천 제한이 완화됐다. 교육 현장의 투명성, 공공성, 건전한 재정을 해치는 무능한 정부를 규탄한다”고 강조했다.

또한 “정부의 무능함이 대통령 임기 단축 헌법 개정 논의를 불러왔다”며 “모든 사안에 대한 명확한 책임을 지고 대한민국의 미래와 한반도 평화를 위해 윤석열 대통령은 즉각 물러나야 한다”고 주장했다.

19일에는 경북대학교가 시국선언에 나설 계획이다. 윤석열 대통령의 최대지지 기반인 대구와 경북에서 퇴진을 요구하는 목소리가 터져 나와 한동안 파장이 이어질 것으로 예상된다.
