21일 서태원 예비후보는 “신설할 석적IC(경부고속도로)와 구미5단지 그리고 대구·경북신공항을 연결해 칠곡군 약목‧북삼의 개발을 유도하고 끊어져 있는 미완의 덕포교를 효율적으로 활용하고자 한다.”는 계획을 밝혔다.
그는 “덕포대교는 2016년 23일 석적읍 포남리 구간 1.78km의 장대교량(설치비 : 495억원) 구미를 잇는 도로로 건설했지만, 약목면 덕산리 구간은 미완으로 남아 제 역할을 하지 못하고 있다.”고 설명했다.
그러면서 “국토33호선과, 왜관 철도화물역 그리고 덕포대교를 있는 연결도로를 하루 빨리 개설해 북삼읍(오평리)와 약목면(덕산리) 개발의 마중물이 되도록 하겠다.”는 포부를 밝혔다.
아울러 이 도로를 통해 구미와의 15분, 신공항과 40분대 교통망을 만들어 칠곡군이 대구·경북신공항 물류거점으로 성장할 것이라고 주장했다.

He also claimed that Chilgok-gun would grow into a logistics hub for Daegu and Gyeongbuk new airports by creating a transportation network for 15 minutes to Gumi and 40 minutes to the new airport through this road.
