이번 평가는 전국의 1,885개 사회복지관, 노인복지관, 아동생활시설, 장애인직업재활시설 등을 대상으로 시설 및 환경 , 재정 및 조직운영, 프로그램 및 서비스, 이용자 권리, 지역사회 관계, 시설운영 전반 등 6개 영역에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 

복지부 평가에서 대구시는 사회복지관 26개소와 노인복지관 16개소 시설 전부가 A등급, 7개 사회복지시설이 6개 평가 항목 최고 점수를 받아 상위 5% 내의 우수시설에 지원해 주는 700만 원의 인센티브까지 챙겼다.

또 지난 3년간 눈에 띄는 시설 개선 점수 상위 3% 내의 평가를 받은 9개 시설도 각 350만 원의 인센티브를 지원받게 됐다.

정의관 대구시 복지국장은 “이번 보건복지부 사회복지시설 평가 결과는 코로나 등 어려운 환경에서도 대구 시민에게 양질의 복지 서비스를 제공하기 위한 현장 관계자분들의 부단한 노력의 산물이라고 생각한다"며, "대구시는 이러한 노력이 효과적으로 시민들께 전달될 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
