국민의 생명과 직결되는 해양사고 예방을 위해 단속에 앞서 해양종사자를 대상으로충분한홍보·예고(2주간)를 통해 해양사고 예방 문화를 조성할 예정이다.

이번 중점 단속대상은 △연안화물선 등 대형선박의최저 승무기준 위반 △화물적재·고박지침 위반 △선박안전검사 미수검△과적·과승 △무면허·음주 운항 △승무기준 위반 △항행구역 위반등이다.

포항해경 관계자는 “국민 생명과 안전을 위협하는 해양안전 저해사범에 대해서법과 원칙에 따라 엄중한 사법처리를 할 방침”이라며 “국민의 안전을최우선으로국민에게 공감 받는 수사 활동을 이어가겠다.”고 전했다.

한편 포항해경은 2022년 특별단속 기간 중 무면허 운항, 선박 증·개축, 과승 등해양안전 저해사범 84건 89명을 검거했다.
