【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=한국교육학술정보원(원장 서유미, 이하 ‘KERIS’)이 지진으로 인명피해 및 경제적 어려움을 격고 있는 튀르키예·시리아에 성금을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

KERIS는 지난 7일 임직원의 자발적 참여와 기관 지원으로 튀르키예·시리아를 위해 마련한 성금 6백 34만원을 대한적십자사에 전달했다고 8일 밝혔다.

이번 성금은 대한적십자사를 통해 피해 지역의 복구와 이재민 긴급구호 등에 사용될 예정이다.

 KERIS 서유미 원장은 “모금 액수가 크진 않지만, KERIS 임직원이 지진피해 이재민들을 돕기 위해 자발적으로 나섰다는데 의의가 있다.”고 전하며, “갑작스러운 지진으로 삶의 터전을 잃은 튀르키예와 시리아 국민들이 하루 빨리 평화로운 일상으로 복귀할 수 있기를 바란다.”고 말했다. 

한편 KERIS는 이번 지진 피해 지원을 위한 성금기부 이외에도 2022년 울산 산불 피해지역 복구지원, 학교 밖 청소년의 장학금 및 생계 지원 등 사회 각 분야의 발전을 위해 지속적인 기부활동을 시행하고 있다.

Meanwhile, in addition to donations to support damage from the earthquake, KERIS is continuously carrying out donation activities for the development of each sector of society, such as support for the recovery of areas affected by forest fires in Ulsan in 2022, scholarships and livelihood support for out-of-school youth.
