【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=대구교통공사는 친환경 교통정책에 부응하고 도시철도 수송수요 회복을 위해  접이식 신형 미니벨로를 배치했다고 24일 밝혔다.

현재 공사는 1,2호선 39개 역에서 총 310대의 무료대여 자전거를 운용하고 있다. 

이번에 배치된 접이식 신형 미니벨로는 길이 1,480mm(접을 경우 880mm), 무게 12kg으로 기존 무료대여 자전거에 비해 길이는 최고 820mm, 무게는 32% 이상 줄어들어 남녀노소 누구나 편리한 이용이 가능하다. 

평소 대여 수요가 많은 역 4개 역사(신천역, 강창역, 계명대역, 남산역)에 22대를 우선 배치하였으며 이용실적 모니터링 후 단계적으로 확대할 계획이다.

이용을 희망하는 고객은 사전에 대구교통공사 홈페이지 ‘이용안내’나 자전거 대여 가능역을 방문해 회원가입 후 이용이 가능하다.

김기혁 대구교통공사 사장은 “많은 시민들이 BMW(Bicycle자전거, Metro지하철, Walk도보)이용으로 친환경 라이프스타일을 실천하길 기대한다.”며 “시민들이 도시철도와 무료대여 자전거 서비스를 안전하고 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
