마을기업은 지역주민이 지역자원을 활용한 수익사업을 통해 공동의 지역문제를 해결하고, 소득 및 일자리를 창출하여 지역공동체 이익을 효과적으로 실현하기 위해 설립하고 운영하는 마을 단위의 기업이다.

신규 마을기업으로 선정된 2개소는 자립할 수 있는 사업 기반 구성과 역량 제고를 위해 시설비·운영비 등 기업 운영에 필요한 보조금 각 5천만 원씩 지원받는다.

이번 신규 마을기업으로 선정된‘농업회사법인주식회사 도산참사랑’은 도산서원·청량산·이육사문학관·안동국제컨벤션센터 등 주변 명소에 대한 높아진 관광수요에 맞춰 지역특산물인 시래기를 이용한 음식점과 카페, 특산물 판매장을 운영할 계획이다.

또‘꿀벌마을 농업회사법인주식회사’는 아카시아 밀원수가 풍부한 와룡면의 자연환경을 활용한 양봉 상품을 생산하여 지역경제 활성화와 지역 내 일자리 창출로 지역 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

안동시 관계자는 “신규마을기업이고용 창출 및 지역공동체 활성화를 위해 노력해줄 것을 당부드리며, 앞으로도 마을기업이 더 안정적으로 성장할 수 있도록 판로개척, 경영컨설팅 등에 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 전했다.
